007 SPECTRE – See James Bond’s Car, and More!

November 2015 marks the release of the 24th installment of the James Bond – 007 spy movies, 007 SPECTRE, in which superspy James Bond deciphers a cryptic message from his past. While M struggles to keep MI6 off the chopping block, James Bond unravels the mystery that is SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion), a sinister organization with roots that go deeper than even Bond is willing to accept. Along the way, James Bond is never far from danger, whether double-crossing Bond Girls or super-villain minions’ supercars.

Of course, this being Gear Heads, we’re going to take a look at the cars, but you can take a look at 007 SPECTRE Bond Girls over here. In a number of the last fifty years and 23 films, James Bond has driven an Aston Martin. In Thunderball, GoldenEye, Goldfinger, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale, and Skyfall, James drove an Aston Martin DB5. In The Living Daylights, Bond drove an Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante. In Die Another Day, 007 drove an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. Also, in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, James Bond drove an Aston Martin DBS V12.

James Bond’s New Bespoke Aston Martin DB10

In the upcoming film, 007 SPECTRE, James drives an Aston Martin DB10, a bespoke Aston Martin designed and built specifically for the film. While the DB10 will never go into production, it does hint at the future of Aston Martin design. Ten examples will be built, outfitted with Q’s latest spy gadgets, and most of which will probably be wrecked, in spectacular fashion, by the end of the film.

Ready for a Roman Chase Scene with the Jaguar C-X75?

Of course, what is a Bond film without the chase scenes? One chase scene in particular, taking place on the streets of Rome, pits James Bond’s Aston Martin DB10 against the Jaguar C-X75 concept hybrid supercar. Built in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering, the Jaguar C-X75 is built on a carbon-fiber chassis and accelerates from zero to sixty miles per hour in just three seconds, a fitting opponent, wouldn’t you say?

007 SPECTRE Car 4

Range Rover Sport SVR, an Insanely Fast and Luxurious SUV

The film, 007 SPECTRE, also features the Range Rover Sport SVR, the fastest Range Rover ever built by Jaguar Land Rover. Not only is the Range Rover Sport SVR just as capable as ever off-road, but handles better than ever on-road. Powered by a 550 hp supercharged 5.0 ℓ V8, the SVR can accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds, not bad for a 2.5 ton behemoth!

007 SPECTRE Car 5

Land Rover Defender “Big Foot” Edition, specially modified for rough and tumble!

Also, at least one specially-modified Land Rover Defender Big Foot will feature in the film, upgraded by Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations. The Land Rover Defender, the “epitome of toughness, ruggedness, strength, and capability,” has been an icon for decades, the most-recognizable off-road vehicle in the world. Outfitted for the film, the “Big Foot” models feature monstrous 37-inch off-road tires, a bespoke high-performance suspension system, and extra body protection.

Here’s looking forward to November, 007 SPECTRE, and superspy action and spectacular cars, and I’m sure these are not the only ones!
