2012 Bentley Mulsanne

Published July 26, 2012

How does “Mulsanne Mulliner Driving Specification” sound for a name? Well- while this maybe a lengthy name for the next upcoming sedan from Bentley, but wouldn’t we telling you about a “Bentley” make you exited about this review? I for sure was exited writing this one. The 2012 Bentley Mulsanne comes as a replacement for the Arnage series and boy does it ever replace it.

The 2012 Mulsanne Mulliner Driving Specification was revealed at the Geneva Motor show this year. And to mention it for those of you who don’t know about Bentley (which world were you living in?), it is defined for an outrageous display of class, wealth and affluence that perhaps none other than Rolls Ryce can display.

The 2012 Mulsanne Mulliner happens to be only the first car designed by Bentley themselves in nearly 80 years of car making- so the exterior happens to be relatively simple with nothing out of the box on it. The body has been designed in a monoque fashion with Aluminum being the material used throughout the body to keep the weight under check. The front contains a meshed grille with two bi xenon projector lamps on the front. It carries 21 inch light aluminum alloy wheels that are available in either their painted form or the polished one, both being designed exquisitely for the Mulliner.

The interior of the 2012 Mulsanne Mulliner is definitely going to leave your eyes open real wide. The seats have been designed with exclusive diamond quilting pattern leather for both the front and rear seats. According to Bentley, it takes more than 170 man hours to design the interiors of the Muslanne with the clip in rear cup holders and the gear lever being hand made, among others. More than 100 paint color options are going to be made available for the Muslanne along with 22 leather hides being designed for the same. A tinted glass sunroof has also been designed specifically for the 2012 Bentley Mulsanne Millner Driving Specification.

In terms of safety, driver and front passenger airbags have been fitted along with head and thorax airbags have been fitted for both the front and rear seats. The front infotainment system has been integrated with satellite navigation and 3D topographical maps with the ability to inform about the current traffic situation. The entertainment system contains an 8 inch high res screen which displays a multitude of information about the vehicle including the values from its navigation system. A cordless telephone cradle has also been arranged in the armrest position with the ability of adding a SIM card to it.

If you were thinking the flagship Bentley would be any less than 500 HP, you know you HAVE to be wrong. The 2012 Mulsanne Millner Driving Specification carries a 505 HP. With a 6.75 liter V8 engine, it can run up to the speed of 0-60 in just a matter of 5.3 seconds. It can also get to a superb top speed of 184 mph without fretting a bit.

Well what can we say about the 2012 Mulsanne Millner Driving Specification other than- If you can affoard, don’t think a second time before buying one.

The Car scene is so diverse Where I come from, most enthusiasts recognize the amazing engineering (particularly the engines). The bulk of the ridicule originates from the manner in which many of the vehicles are modded/maintained. Thus, the jokes and or hate tends to be aimed more at the owner rather than the machine. All of which makes seeing properly sorted old Toyota's and Hondas at car meets, auto shows, and track days all the more refreshing.

At Autowise, we envision ourselves as not just a automobile blog or an automobile news website, instead we see our website as a platform to connect all automobile enthusiast and provide them with all the information they need.
