2012 Chevy Camaro – Strong Muscular Lines and Comfort All in One Car.

Updated October 6, 2012

2012 Chevy Camaro Body

For all its muscle and brashness it seems the Camaro was always falling short in style and power to the Ford Mustang. Although things started to turn around back in 2010 and have seamlessly stayed that way making the 2012 Chevy Camaro the eye candy it deserves to be. The car is stunning to look at, and in true muscle car style it shows off its brawn in the lines of its well-designed body.  My only quip with this car would have to be the small windows on all sides except the front.  They seem so impractical, and maybe for its next model Chevy could either consider adding a bit more height to the car or making the doors smaller to allow for a better view. In any case it is a sports car and being practical is just not part of the equation.

There are several highlights for the 2012 Chevy Camaro, among them the revival of the ZL1, a legend in its own right and a lot to live up to. Alright that might be easier with all the advances in technology, but the ZL1 does have a reputation to maintain. For the time being it is the fastest and most powerful Camaro built to date with 580 horsepower and Goodyear Eagle F1 20 inch tires to match all the muscle visible on the exterior. This information alone is enough to make sports car enthusiasts giddy with excitement. The base LS model is a stunner in its own right and comes with either a manual (1LS) or automatic transmission (2LS). To add to the racer look, you can request that stripes be added to the paint job.

Summary of its insides

Right off the bat the telescopic steering wheel is impeccable with the word Camaro embossed across it. Classic and roomy bucket seats make the 2012 Chevy Camaro comfortable for the driver and whoever calls shotgun on the front passenger seat. Those stuck in the back might have a differing opinion as to the comfort levels.  With only 29.9 inches of leg room compared to the 42.4 inches those in the front get to enjoy, back side passengers will have to put up with confined and uncomfortable seats. I doubt the view will be any

good either.

Overall impressions
For sheer entertainment and because it can the stereo in this muscle car packs an 80 wattpunch and 6 speakers in total to distribute the sound. It makes sense that it only has a single disc CD player as most people would just rather listen to the playlists on their iPods or MP3s.  Other extras include Bluetooth connectivity and satellite radio.Obviously a muscle car is not ideal for everyday driving, unless of course you are a teenager eager to impress the crowd. Nonetheless if you are a sports car buff who appreciates the cars fine lines despite the poor visibility you won’t mind having the 2012 Chevy Camaro with you on a day to day basis, either.

About Calvin Escobar

The Car scene is so diverse Where I come from, most enthusiasts recognize the amazing engineering (particularly the engines). The bulk of the ridicule originates from the manner in which many of the vehicles are modded/maintained. Thus, the jokes and or hate tends to be aimed more at the owner rather than the machine. All of which makes seeing properly sorted old Toyota's and Hondas at car meets, auto shows, and track days all the more refreshing.

At Autowise, we envision ourselves as not just a automobile blog or an automobile news website, instead we see our website as a platform to connect all automobile enthusiast and provide them with all the information they need.
