2012 Dodge Charger- Looks Are Deceiving On This Sedan
Published October 11, 2012
Perhaps the most unconventional car in its lineup, the 2012 Dodge Charger leaves me perplexed. I still do not know if that’s a good thing or not. Granted not many cars can pull off that orange color it comes in, I still do not know what to make of it. If I were to judge it solely on looks I would not say it is a sedan. I’d be careful to categorize it as a muscle car since it does not have the history a Chevy Camaro or Ford Mustang has. Its aerodynamic, strong lines are reminiscent of the Camaro, yet this car manages to look 10 times tougher. But again, it has not been around long enough to transcend. It is by no means unpleasant to look at, and kudos to Dodge for daring to break the mold in the uptight, and often boring sedan world. Between the Ram pick-up truck and the Grand Caravan, the 2012 Dodge Charger is a lot like a petulant child not afraid to command the attention it so deserves. From the in your face grille to the 164 LED lights on the rear, the bold design extends from front to back without interruption. Dual rear exhaust and your choice of aluminum wheels add to the toughness of this vehicle.
While its rugged exterior is untamed, the interior of the car is quite soothing with the glossy and textured dashboard and premium cloth or Napa leather seats. If you decide to go all out when personalizing your 2012 Dodge Charger you can enjoy your infotainment system on an 8.4 inch touch screen. The car is strong, but in a very refined manner. That’s a tough marriage for a domestic sedan, but Dodge manages to integrate both aspects flawlessly.
Endless Models To Choose From
With nine different models to choose from it’s likely you’ll find the 2012 Dodge Charger a strong contender if you are looking to purchase a car in the near future. Starting at $25,600 and almost doubling in price at $47,425 this model is versatile enough that you will not feel disappointed regardless of the model you decide to go with. The starting off point is the SE model with an impressive 292 horsepower pull and four wheel touring suspension. For a supercharged engine the Charger R/T is sure to get your heart racing with its 5.7L Hemi V8 engine reaching 370 hp. Speed enthusiasts are sure to get their thrills driving this car. Sure the gas mileage is not that great, but it’s unlikely this small detail will deter someone with a love for powerful engines from purchasing this car that can go from 0-60 in six seconds. Just when you thought things could not get better, they do. The Charger SRT8 will leave you with your mouth open. With an all black grille, leather interiors, a hefty set of Harman Kardon speakers, and a 6.4L Hemi V8 that can reach 175 miles per hour you will appreciate the car even more. Needless to say the 2012 Dodge Charger is slowly and surely writing its legacy.
