2013 Ferrari F12berlinetta

Published July 20, 2012

That stallion on the hood decal of a Ferrari just got a whole lot stronger. The stallion represents so many things. Power. Grace. Beauty. Dignity. Virility. Power. Speed. And every time Ferrari designs a car they have all those attributes in mind. And certainly the 2013 Ferrari F12berlinetta is no different. In fact it this model introduces a whole generation. Not only in style and design, the F12berlinetta is also the most powerful and high performance Ferrari ever built.

The F12berlinetta is equipped with a direct-injection V12 delivering unprecedented performance for a naturally aspirated 12-cylinder engine. in terms of both power and revs. At its peak performance the V12 provides a blistering 740hp at 8250 rpm. The F12’s responsiveness is positive and immediate with its torque capability of over 508lb/ft. And 80% of that torque is available at 2500 rpm. Despite all that power concentrated efforts have been made with regard to fuel efficiency and emissions. Ferrari’s new engineering and technology have reduced both of these by a full 30%.

The F12 has a shorter wheelbase and the engine and driver seat have been lowered. The rear is more compact. So weight distribution is at 54% at the rear and the lower centre of gravity has also been shifted rearwards in the chassis. Translating to an incredibly stable car. Add to that the implementation of 12 different aluminum alloys and Ferrari found the car weight was reduced to 1525 kg.

The F12berlinetta is the golden child result of the collaboration between the Ferrari Style Centre and Pininfarina. The focus for the F12berlinetta styling was exceptionally balanced proportions. The new exterior design approach provides a sleek aggressive car and despite its compact appearance the interior is surprisingly roomy and comfortable. But you’re only going to care so much about that when you’re blasting down a winding country road with the exhilarating driving experience of a Ferrari. Test drivers have only so many words for the F12berlinetta when they complete their laps on the track. It involves a great deal of adjectives like ‘exceptional’ and ‘excellent’, or ‘remarkable and ‘sexy’ and ‘fantastic’ and ‘wicked’. This is a car that is impressive even to those who are experienced drivers accustomed to performance cars. Driver who expect certain benchmark particulars from automakers such as Ferrari.

The bottom line is that the 2013 Ferrari F12berlinetta will be the next generation’s classic car that will continue to ensure the extensive unprecedented reputation of Ferrari’s lineage.

The Car scene is so diverse Where I come from, most enthusiasts recognize the amazing engineering (particularly the engines). The bulk of the ridicule originates from the manner in which many of the vehicles are modded/maintained. Thus, the jokes and or hate tends to be aimed more at the owner rather than the machine. All of which makes seeing properly sorted old Toyota's and Hondas at car meets, auto shows, and track days all the more refreshing.

At Autowise, we envision ourselves as not just a automobile blog or an automobile news website, instead we see our website as a platform to connect all automobile enthusiast and provide them with all the information they need.
