2013 Rolls Royce Ghost
Published July 25, 2012
I’m not sure how much money a person has to have to have a Rolls Royce Ghost as their everyday beater. Their daily runabout. Because of course the Phantom is kept in the garage for those special occasions. Whatever. Anyhow, Rolls Royce has long been synonymous with luxury and high class society. Us little people may get to ride one on our wedding day if we splurge for the rental and forgo the Lincoln or the Cadillac.
The 2013 Ghost is mostly unchanged. There are two versions a regular sized and an optional extended wheelbase. This luxury sedan is huge and heavy weighing in at close to 5500 pounds but fear not. The V12 is twin turbocharged and producing a whopping 563hp and manages a 0-60 in a surprising 4.8 seconds. Hey, when you have this much money you better be prepared to out run somebody. Lord knows you’ve likely made some powerful enemies. The ghost runs with adaptive air suspension all around so the ride is smooth enough that you virtually forget you’re riding in a car. Inside are club chairs that are luxurious and allow a proper view of the road but could lull you off to sleep if you’re not careful. In the back you can option between the standard couch or individual lounge seating. The rear doors open at 83 degrees for ease of entry and exit alike. And lets not forget the Rolls Royce umbrellas provided in the front doors.
It’s a Rolls and that means you will be able to order it in any color you can imagine with any color leather you wish. Also you can choose the type of wood and inlays want to have, provided it adheres to international rare and protected wood species laws. you can dream up. Rolls Royce will customize a family crest for the dash. Or if you wish they will render a mother of pearl inlay of you dropping trousers and mooning the Queen. Rolls Royce doesn’t car. Its your money you’re wasting.
Its called the Ghost because it’s eerie and silent and yet powerful and fast. The Ghost will bear down and grip the road, unlike its sister the Phantom which is designed to float over the road. Regardless this is one remarkable automobile and reserved for the wealthy. It’s a car that takes its passengers comfort, safety and spoiling first and foremost. Economy and ecology are a passing fancy and an after thought for the Ghost. It has one purpose. To move rich people around and be sure they have nothing to complain about. Except for traffic. But I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some hidden feature in the form of a disintegration laser weapon to take care of bothersome traffic jams.
