2013 Subaru BRZ VS WRX – Which One To Choose?

Which One Would You Choose? The Subaru BRZ Vs WRX

Updated September 1, 2018

We Want The 2013 Subaru BRZ For The Track Days But What About The Snow Days? Let’s Look At The WRX Vs BRX

This is a comparison of two very spectacular vehicles that offer a decent price as well as great fun to drive factor all around. But when it comes to everyday livability which one will prevail? The price difference is $100 between the two base models of the BRZ and WRX, but if you to choose the BRZ vs WRX debate, which one would you choose? The 2013 Subaru BRZ as I am sure you know by now has it’s twin sibling, the 2013 Scion FRS and shares an impressive powertrain that couples old and new technology to make for a tuners paradise. We see that Subaru has stuck with their ultra reliable 2.0 L horizontal four-cylinder and added some direct and port injection cylinder heads. His engine design delivers 200 hp as well as the ability to go 34 miles on the highway on 1 gallon of gas. With the base model Subaru BRZ you get several features such as the voice command GPS system, Blutooth, and USB port. On the mechanical side of things you get a 6-speed manual transmission with the option of an automatic and a limited slip rear differential. So you’ve got the BRZ Vs WRX, but which one is right for you is probably down to what conditions you regularly drive in.

2013 Subaru BRZ Has A Strong Case

2013 Subaru WRX has been a staple for years for a fun to drive and very versatile vehicle that can take you more places and in more inclement weather thanks to its all-wheel-drive capabilities. So how does it stack up against the Subaru BRZ 2013. The fact is that if you live in an area that rarely sees snow or ice and don’t take dirt roads then the BRZ is going be a blast to drive as it offers rear wheel drive making track days all that much more fun. What the WRX 2013 does have, is 65 more forced induction horsepower goodness. The problem is that it only comes with a five speed manual transmission and only delivers 25 miles per gallon. Secondly 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX has a dated look and is due for a big change whenever the 2014 Subaru WRX is released. Plus you don’t get the navigation system like you do with the 2013 Subaru BRZ.

My Thoughts On The 2013 Subaru BRZ Vs WRX Model

This has to be one of the hardest decisions I would have to make looking at these vehicles. We know that the WRX has a large tuner following and that the BRZ will as well, so the horsepower can be upped substantially with say a GReddy Turbo kit. I do wish that the WRX could achieve more miles per gallon as the BRZ fully dominates by getting nine more miles on the highway. But what it boils down to me is that I prefer versatility as I do a lot activities outdoors therefore I have to be able to take my vehicles off paved roads and have room for my gear. Living where I do, we are susceptible to ice and snow and therefore makes me decide on the 2013 Subaru WRX as my pick. If I were fortunate enough to have the ability to own two cars then I would certainly be putting money down on the 2013 Subaru BRZ. If your wife wants to look at cars then tell her, she for one needs to learn to drive stick (if she doesn’t) and secondly there are only two cars available, which are the BRZ or FRS.
