2014 Vauxhall Astra VXR USA Edition
Will Vauxhall USA Brings Us The Astra VXR?
Updated September 3, 2018
Is GM bringing the 2014 Vauxhall Astra VXR to the US?
It seems as though the hatchbacks are coming to the United States with a little bit of moxie. These four-cylinder hunchbacked rockets for drawing in more and more attention as they offer a sporty drive as well as efficiency so the vehicle can get you to your boss and autocross each and every week. We are seeing vehicles coming into the market that are packing some ponies under the hood while still keep the weight nominal. Vehicles such as Hyundai Veloster Turbo looks to be a hit among individuals that are looking for an agile and fun to drive car that can deliver 200 hp, 6-speed, leather for under $25k.

Since Ford is introducing the powerful and efficient 2013 Ford Focus ST and look to be bringing the Fiesta ST as well. GM will have the Chevy Cruze SS that will be coming soon sharing the Buick Verano Turbo engine. But it looks like GM is wanting to get into the Hatchback business as well but it is not sure whether it is under the Chevy or more likely Buick nameplate. I know it sounds funny and it may turn out to be that way but Buick wants to inject Botox and Boob implants in order to appeal to a younger crowd. Since the disappearance of Pontiac we see that GM wants to do what it can to revitalize the companies imagine. We have already seen the Vauxhall Insignia become a Buick Regal and Regal GS so it should be no surprise. Hopefully they will leave the pep-boys air vents off these cars.

As for the 2014 Astra or Opel, look for there to be a full range of cars from the 3-door, 5-door and possibly wagon. We however are only concerned about the top dog VXR or OPC as it looks to pump out a few ponies. The Euro-Spec Opel OPC or Astra VXR throws down 280 bhp which certainly sounds good to us. Nice and manageable LSD keeps traction through some very attractive looking 19” wheels. I’m sure the ride quality is crap but you can just sit on a hemorrhoid donut which will boost you up just a little bit more. Plus the hugging seat sides will keep your kidneys and liver in place so you don’t piss blood after you hit a pothole. The engineers have really thought of everything. On a final note maybe we can see a Euro-trash Fast & Furious trend take place on our streets that offers up a lot of leather and shitty techno. And expect a stupid name like the 2014 Buick Curtsey GS but a price around $25k.
