2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Is Just Lovely
Published June 5, 2014
The guys and gals over in Bowling Green will soon be spitting out 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06’s faster than teeth. Yes bowtie fans your demigod is getting a facelift and some POWER! I really am impressed with the looks of the C7 generation and the fact that taken the mullet madness stigma of Chevy Corvettes from the past, even I would have taken this for a foreign make had I not seen the emblems. Now with C7 introduced, GM decided to release the dogs of war with the Z06 and with its multi-vented body parts make this ride more holy than the pope. For those looking to take a step even further will rejoice with the Z07 package that will offer sticky Michelins and carbon-ceramic fade-free brakes. The Z08 package with come with Black Rhino skin seats, Unicorn horn spoke wheels and moon rock brake pads.
The engineers over at GM have been working on delivering a potent engine that would churn out 600+ horsepower and they succeeded. With the 6.2 liter coming in at 625hp and 635 lb-ft of torque makes this 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 a monster on the streets. I mean this vehicle and the Nissan GT-R have got to be record holders for performance bucks that are still under warranty. I mean 10 years ago if you told me that you could purchase a stock 625hp sports car and get great financing rates and extended powertrain warranty I would already be handing you an igloo cooler with one of my kidneys in it for the down payment.
With lots of carbon fiber tidbits and tons of electronic assists, expect this corvette to be more like a full fledge race car. Sure some driver assists are over the top but honestly have you seen how many YouTube videos are of corvette drivers losing the ass end of the car and crashing. Chevrolet has been working hard on the new double clutch 8-speed gearbox and the claim it shift faster than most foreign counterparts makes me think that the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is truly a blessing for the diehard gearhead that has skimped and saved for years in order to have a dream car and this just seems to check off all the markings for offering all the supercar goodies at a real world bargain price. Expect these bowtie bad boys to be overpriced by dealers for a bit but will then settle to the more realistic sticker price. As for performance companies such as Henessey and Callaway, expect mind numbing numbers for performance specs and times and as for GM posting times, we will let you know as soon as we know.
So here are my questions to you the reader. Which would you choose, the Nissan GT-R Nismo or 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Question #2 – Is the C7 capable of breaking the stigma of the stereotypical Corvette owner? Let us know your thoughts.
