2015 Chevy Colorado ZR2 To Include Duramax Diesel
Introducing The 2015 Chevy Colorado Diesel!
Updated September 25, 2018
There has been a lot of recent hype around the 2015 Nissan Titan with a Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine, but Chevy swung back with the debut of the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The ZR2 is to include 2.8 liter Duramax diesel engine which has 369 lb-ft of torque. Look out Chevy haters, the game isn’t over.
The Colorado ZR2 isn’t just for the streets, with all that torque it is meant to go off-road or anywhere else you might want it to. Of course, King designed a set of mono-tube coil-over shocks that are going to make that ride comfortable no matter where you decide to go, not to forget electronic locking front and rear differentials.
Since ZR2 was meant to go off-road more than the other editions of the Colorado, including the Z71 it sits 2 inches higher and is 4 inches wider, giving it a little extra stability. Riding on 18 inch aluminum wheels with a trail ready set of 275/65R18 tires and the spare mounted unusually in the bed of the truck.
How about that engine? Yes, the 2.8 liter Duramax diesel engine will only be 181 HP but with 369 lb-ft of torque. It might be just be a 4 cylinder but there is no shortage of torqur at low RPM’s.
So the only question is who threw the hardest punch? The 2015 Chevy Colorado ZR2 or the 2015 Nissan Cummins Turbo Diesel Titan?
