2017 Yenko/SC Camaro Gets Supercharged And Ready To Tackle The Hellcat
Updated October 15, 2018
Unlike the last gen Camaro Yenko which surfaced from the garages of the Chevrolet dealership in Pennsylvania, the newest 2017 Yenko/SC Camaro comes from a special tuner. Specialty Vehicle Engineering revealed the tuning package which transforms the Camaro SS to the Camaro SC Yenko for $40,000. A lot of money for sure. And yes, the SC stands for Supercharged.
First, of, the engine in this one isn’t a standard LT1. Bored out to 6.8 liters of capacity and then garnished with a forged steel crankshaft, forged h-beam connecting rods, ported cylinder heads, forged aluminum pistons, and a 2.9-liter supercharger, this LT1 sings a Hellcat beating song. Welcome an 800 hp and 750 lb-ft worth of car. Could it be a supercar-beating machine!?
In an effort to link it with classic, famed and proud Yenko heritage, SVE decorated the car with matching retro-styled graphics. 40 grand will not only up to the power and cosmetically enhance the car. SVE prepared a carbon fiber package which includes a carbon-fiber hood and some other carbon fiber decorated surfaces. Additionally, they fit the car with awesome 20-inch wheels, embroidered headrests, a lot of badges, doorsill plates, and thick floor mats. After all, one must know this isn’t just any Camaro. It’s an American supercar.
Considering the price of 80 grand, it is an expensive beast. Yet, SVE apparently offers much the same tuning package for the C7 Corvette Grand Sport. Its engine too looks up to 800hp.
Specialty Vehicle Engineering plans to build 50 units. Hurry up!
