There’s been a lot of interest surrounding the 2018 Honda Gold Wing – from rumors, to patent sketches, and from concept renderings to commercials – but now we can finally take a look at some genuine images. You don’t even have to be a fan of the giant tourer to be interested in what the 2018 Honda Gold Wing looks like or what technology it features, all you need to know that next year’s model is going to be a resounding success.
The 2018 Honda Gold Wing – Leaked Images!
While we’re not expecting to see the official unveiling of the new Gold Wing until a special media event in October, two rather fantastic European sites (Maxxmoto and Oliepeil) have managed to get their hands on a few leaked images ahead of time. While they’re not the highest of resolutions, these images show more than enough detail to show the new 2018 Honda Gold Wing in all of its glory.
At first glance we can see that the Gold Wing has had a nice styling update for the new year, but if you look a little closer you’ll notice the most important change: a new front end. In past patent sketches and a few renders we have seen the Gold Wing sporting a few different front suspension arrangements, but it seems like Honda have finally settled on a Hossack-inspired front fork. The new arrangement is reminiscent of the suspension seen on BMW’s K-series models.
The new front end is easily the biggest visible update. Nothing else looks particularly out of shape. We can see that the 2018 Honda Gold Wing will come powered by the usual flat-six engine but thanks to new emissions laws we imagine that it’s going to have some changes and hopefully a power boost. Up front we can see that there been a fairly hefty update to the Gold Wing’s infotainment system, bringing it nice and up to date, and in line with the rest of the big tourer competition.
As for the specifics, we’ve got no idea what Honda have on offer. We’re sure that the upgrades and new technology systems will be plentiful…but we’ll have to wait until next month to find out the full details. In the meantime, enjoy these photos as best you can.
