Dodge has come a long way over its over 100-year heritage. One thing has stayed constant though, high power muscle car offerings. Dodge has officially become a true performance brand. It now offers its big muscle SRT version across its entire model line. The new 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat, 2020 Challenger SRT Super Stock, and 2021 Charger Hellcat SRT Redeye are going to snap some necks!
What do all of these vehicles have in common? The answer is over 700-horsepower from the 6.2L HEMI V-8 Hellcat engine, backed by an 8-speed automatic transmission. Oh, they can also all go sub-11.5-seconds in the quarter-mile and hit over 168 mph as well.
2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat
Dodge now claims to make “the most powerful SUV ever.” This claim is based on the forthcoming, one model year only, 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat.
This new Durango has a 6.2L HEMI Hellcat V-8 under the hood putting out 710 hp and 645 lb.-ft. of torque. Can your family hauler SUV do 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, do an 11.5-second quarter-mile, and hit 180 mph? No, it can’t, but this Durango SRT Hellcat can!
Not only do you get big power under the hood, but you get big attitude inside and out. The interior and exterior have been updated for a more aggressive look and feel, while improving performance on all fronts. Our favorite is the combo of front splitter and rear wing lip that combine to provide big downforce gains. These gains mean that the Durango Hellcat is not only fast in a straight line, but can also corner way better than an SUV of this size should be able.
To top it off you get the fun of launch control and the carrying capacity to bring lots of friends, family, and/or gear along for the spirited driving adventures. This insanely powerful Durango will also offer a truly impressive towing capacity of 8,700-pounds.
The 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is available to order this fall. It will start arriving on dealer lots in early 2021.
2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock
Dodge claims that the 2020 Challenger SRT Super Stock is the “world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car.” With 807-horsepower -on pump gas- on tap, it’s hard to argue! This is a 10 hp bump over the already insane Challenger Redeye. You also get a massive 707 lb.-ft. of torque with the new Super Stock.
“Quickest” is a justified term as well. The Challenger Super Stock does 0-60 mph in a blistering 3.25 seconds and dispenses of the quarter-mile in just 10.5-seconds. If it weren’t for the limits of the massive drag radial tires we also have no doubt the car could do more than its limited 168 mph top speed.
The Challenger widebody kit is standard on the Super Stock, increasing the vehicle width by 3.5-inches. This is required to fit the massive 315 drag radials (315/40R18 Nitto NT05R) wrapped on 18″x11″ wheels. Those big wheels also house the impressively large 14.2-inch vented rotors with Brembo four-piston calipers. We have no doubt that this car will be able to stop quickly with that much tire and those brakes!
With the Challenger Super Stock you also get a revised Track Mode that is specially shock tuned for the Bilstein Adaptive Damping Suspension and the big sticky drag radial tires.
You can put your order in for the 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock this summer. Production is slated to start in the fall, with first deliveries coming late this year.
2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye
Dodge now offers the “most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan in the world.” The 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye is an absolute beast of a four-door sedan. This 6.2L HEMI Hellcat V-8 machine puts out 797 hp and 707 lb.-ft. of torque. Not only is this thing fast from a standstill, with a 10.6-second quarter-mile time, but can hit a top speed of 203 mph! Yes, you read that right. A 200+ mph 4-door American muscle car.
A 3.5-inch wide body kit comes standard and features integrated fender flares. The big flares and new hood design really make the new Charger Hellcat Redeye look muscular, and separate it from the standard Charger sedan.
You can order your very own 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye in the fall. Expect delivery in early 2021.
Fun Fact: “At full throttle, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye consumes 1.43 gal/min (5.4 liters/min) of fuel – enough to drain the fuel tank in just under 11 minutes, yet is still rated at 22 miles per gallon (mpg) when driven in normal highway conditions.”
Dodge SRT Muscle Cars
Dodge now claims to have; “the most powerful SUV ever,” the “world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car,” and the “most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan in the world.” Those are some lofty claims, but these are some impressive vehicles!
What would make them even better? A manual transmission of course! Maybe not better in terms of performance, in fact they’d be slower. They’d be more analog and fun to drive, however.
We can’t wait to get behind the wheel of all of these big HEMI powered American muscle cars. They’ll all start hitting dealer lots late this year and into early next year. Which would you put in your garage?
