About 7-percent of the U.S. population is an active member, reserve member, or veteran of the armed services, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. With about 331-million people in this country, that means about 23-million current citizens are or have been involved with the armed services. To show its respect, and entice a large truck-buying group, RAM is making a full line of 1500 ‘Built to Serve Edition‘ trucks to honor each of the five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.

“We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our armed forces and the brave men and women who serve them. These ‘Built to Serve’ models are just one way we honor those who have selflessly served our country,” said Mike Koval Jr., Ram Brand Chief Executive Officer – Stellantis. “Whether civilian or military, Ram truck owners are very familiar with this adage as it’s something we strive to build into every truck and van we produce.”

RAM 1500 Built to Serve Edition Trucks

RAM has now revealed all 5 different versions of the Built to Serve Edition trucks, with the final editions starting to roll out to dealers this spring. Each service is honored with a limited edition truck offered in two exclusive exterior paint colors “that evoke the spirit, the mission, and history of that service.”

The fifth, and last installment, in this series, is maritime force-inspired. It comes in either Spitfire or Bright White exterior paint. The interior is all black, with orange accent stitching. It is also the most limited edition yet, with only 500 Spitfire and 750 Bright White examples being made.

RAM 1500 Built to Serve Edition Exclusive Colors & Limited Production Numbers:

Unique Built to Serve Edition Features

Besides the unique paint jobs these Built to Serve trucks are easily identifiable in a number of other ways. The most obvious is a U.S. flag / “Built to Serve” quote decals on each rear quarter panel. Body-color wheel flares and Technical Gray finished 20-inch alloy wheels also clue you in that these RAM 1500 trucks are special.

Much of these special edition trucks are blacked out. You get an all-black grille and grille surround, black bumpers, and even black-bezels on the lighting. Rounding out the black-out look are black badges, black sidesteps, and dual four-inch black exhaust tips.

Inside the trucks, the black interiors are accented with unique, corresponding color stitching to complement the exterior paint scheme; Light Frost, Light Ambassador Blue, Light Diesel Gray, Medium Greystone, or Orange. Also standard are an instrument panel badge, deeply bolstered cloth and vinyl sport seats, Black Onyx Chrome interior trim, and all-weather rubber slush mats.

Patches are a part of military life. These RAM 1500 Built to Serve trucks offer up Velcro panels on each of the front seats. These areas are designed for owners to personalize their trucks with their own patches.

Rounding out the special interior features are front seat back panels with PALS/MOLLE webbing attachment systems. This setup allows owners to attach a wide variety of storage accessories securely to the vehicle.
