5 Best New Trucks For Escaping a Gathering Mob of Crazed Zombies
Your only chance for survival is to keep moving, stay cool, keep your head. You need a truck that’ll clear a path in front of you, be it alive or be it dead
For each vehicle’s ground clearance we just the manufacturer’s printed specification for its lowest-level 4×2 configuration. So some might be enough to get you through a zombie infestation and to safety – and some may not …
1. Nissan Titan S
Our choice for escaping a mob of zombies headed our way is the Nissan Titan S with an astounding 10.4″ inches of ground clearance – enough to clear an entire pile of zombies, that is if you don’t mind the crunching sounds.
2. Toyota Tundra SR
The Toyota Tundra SR has the same ground clearance as the Nissan, so we needed a tie-breaker. The Nissan has 7 more horsepower than the Toyota, which broke the tie for us. “But that’s only 7 hp” you may yes. True, but it’s like the old joke about the two men in the woods who encounter a bear. One drops to the ground to put on running shoes and the other says “what are you doing? you can’t outrun a bear!” to which the one tying on the running shoes responds “I don’t have to out-run the bear, I just have to out-run you.”
3. Ford F-150 XL
The single cab Ford F-150XL falls right in the middle of out zombies measurements at 8.8 inches of ground clearance, the highest of any of the domestic trucks. So you’d probably be at the bar after your escape with your friends you drove a Nissan and a Toyota, having a drink in memory of your friends who owned Ram and Chevy pickups.
4. Ram 1500
The Ram 1500 is the last of our trucks that pass the skull the test, that is the average American male skull is 8.66″, menaing that the Ram could clear a prone zombie without distrubing them (depending upon, of course, that they are lying parallel to the the direction of travel of the truck.
5. Chevrolet Silverado 1500
With only 8.23 inches of ground clearance, the Chevrolet 1500 Silverado was at the end of our list. The Chevy has 2.17″ less of ground clearance that either the Nissan or the Toyota. Would that make a difference during a zombie apocalypse? How about on a rocky dirt road? Would you want to find out?
