68 Camaro – 6.0L LS2 – Codename: Evade
This 1968 LS2 packing Chevy Camaro is a bowtie of pride and power. Tubular A-arms, heavy-duty sway bars and 4-bar suspension are tucked under and hope to contain the Dana 60 rear packed with 3.73 gears. Turning these VR 3-piece Forgeline wheels is the 450 RWHP 6.0L LS2 connected to a 6-speed Tremec MANUAL. To stop this crazy train is a set of 6-piston Wilwoods up front.
This Camaro is obviously a showpiece and has a nice balance of subtle nuances that accentuate the color patterns found in both the interior and on the exterior. The carbon accents found around the car and stunning underside are all factors to why this is a show winner. And this beauty managed to bring almost $130k in price which is certainly a better choice than wasting your money on your kids art collage tuition. They can paint in the basement while you paint 11’s on the street with these tires!
My first job was being the sanding “slave” at an auto body shop and after repairing the slew of Sheriff Deputy Crown Vic’s that always managed to find themselves in ditches during hot meal pursuits, I managed to get a 67 RS Camaro that rolled in fresh from media blasting and at the age of 16 I was instantly smitten by her. This peppered bare metal beauty beckoned for me to finesse her lines and to work over her in preparation for a candy red paint job with a white racing stripe wrapped around the front. I got to drive the freshly painted Camaro without an interior (except seat frames and springs up my A$$ ) to the upholsters. I still felt like a rock star and will never forget the 4 miles I got to look damn good. So I couldn’t imagine being able to drive this 68 fully packed with all these goodies.
