Bajaj Auto announces the launch date for The Husqvarna brand
The year 2019 promises to be full of excitement for all Bajaj/KTM fans, as the joint venture announced many new upcoming launches in the Indian market.
Not long ago, Bajaj Auto went on to confirm that the KTM 390 Adventure would be launched in 2019, and now the latest announcement from the company reveals its plans of launching the KTM-owned ‘Husqvarna’ motorcycle brand in the Indian Market.
The announcement was made by Bajaj Auto earlier in the month at the company’s annual general body meeting in Pune. What makes the Husqvarna motorcycles so unique and appealing for the Indian premium market is the fact that its underpinnings are similar to KTM motorcycles combined with an entirely revised design language.
Significantly this announcement by Bajaj auto comes just a week after the launch of the BMW G 310 twin models
The very first Husqvarna was manufactured back in 1903 in Sweden, however, over the course of time, it has had a change in ownership several times.
Back in 2013, the Swedish motorcycles were re-purchased by KTM Group from BMW, and the former begun working on two motorcycles namely the Vitpilen 401 and the Svartpilen 40. As per the plan, the bikes will share their underpinnings with the KTM 390 Duke and would be known as ‘White Arrow’ and ‘Black Arrow’ respectively.
However, KTM Group has a completely different vision for The Husqys, as it will overgo massive changes to its design, making it niche offerings.
The Vitpilen 401 and the Svatpilen 401, however, will maintain some of its originality as both would come with the same 373 cc single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine, also the Trellis frame would remain the same. However, the former will be styled as a cafe racer, and the latter will be styled as a scrambler.
