Base Model 2015 Porsche Cayenne And GTS To Debut At L.A. Auto Show
Updated December 5, 2014
Paris Auto Show gave display to the newest 2015 Cayenne range but they held back on two models, the Base 2015 Porsche Cayenne and the GTS. These are both set to to be displayed in just a few short days at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Cayenne GTS will sit in the line-up right between the Cayenne S and the Cayenne Turbo. With a bit of downsizing the 2015 GTS will be reduced to a 3.6 liter twin-turbo v6, definitely nothing close to last years 4.8 liter v8. The GTS will still put out 440 HP which beats out the similarly packaged Cayenne S by 20 HP.
Porsche reports the 2015 Cayenne GTS at 0-62 in 5.2 or 5.1 with the Sport Chrono Package. We are talking about half a second less than the previous model which isn’t bad. and it will still top out at 162 MPH.
The engine isn’t the only enticing thing about the 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS, let’s not forget the air suspension and dampers, sports exhaust, Cayenne Turbo borrowed brakes, along with enlarged intakes on the front bumper, also from the 2015 Turbo model.
Leather and Alcantara trim will cover the majority of the GTS interior surfaces.
The base model 2015 Cayenne will be crawling along with its 3.6 liter v6 at 300 HP, passing all turtles but not the GTS when it takes 7.7 to do 0-62 while only topping out at 143 mph.
There will be a total of 7 variants, yet the United States being behind on times they won’t be receiving the Cayenne S Diesel. Here is a quick list of what editions we will see in the 2015 Porsche Cayenne line-up along with with prices:
