BAW’s B40 three door Jeep spotted out testing
Published January 12, 2010
When BAW first unveiled their very own Jeep style jeep concept car a few years ago, crowds were amazed and there was some serious hope that BAW would produce it, and it seems that the collective hopes of an entire country are coming to fruitation, thus CCT shows you the BAW B40 out testing:
Before any rabid Jeep fan boys shout CLONE! it would be wise to point out that Jeep and BAW have had a long lasting relationship since 1984, when AMC first signed up to a joint venture in China to produce cars locally.
As for powertrains, it appears that BAW are content with dropping a 2.4L four banger in their that will produce 141bhp at 4800rpm, and is good for 217Nm at 3000-4000rpm, with a 5 speed manual as standard. However, with BAW taking over certain Saab products and engine lines, a European heart mind find its way into the B40 in the form of a 2.0T or a 2.3T engine.
An eventual launch date has not yet been announced, but it is expected that the B40 SUV will be launched in around June this year.
