Updated August 12, 2014

The lap of luxury, everyone wants to sit in it but most of us can’t really afford it even if we are gear heads. That being said, when it comes to cars, many people are turning to certified used cars to get a nice car but still save money. To help you make an informed decision we give you our list of the best used midsize upscale cars for under 25k.

2009 Used Acura TL

The Acura TL makes for great used cars. This highly ranked car underwent a complete over hall in 2009 with impressive results. It offers a tempting mix of style, luxury, sporty handling and technology. If you need something to haul the kids around you can’t go wrong with its top-of-the-class reliability and safety ratings. If you want something with more handling the TL offers a sport tuned upgrade that should fill this need.  The only real criticism is that some didn’t like the look of the front grill and others thought the center stack was to button heavy.  It has some nice standard features such as leather seats, Bluetooth, power sunroof, satellite radio and USB port. Upgrades include navigation with traffic updates, solar-sensing climate control and backup camera. Upgrades are available but the base package has a 3.5 liter V6 with 280hp and 18/26mpg.

2009 Used Lexus ES 350

Out of the all the used cars on this list the Lexus ES is one of the most luxurious in its class. With its quiet cabin, seductive interior and smooth riding suspension it can be easy to remember you are even driving. In fact, some critics thought it was to isolating from the road. This is a purely comfortable luxury car. If you need something sportier go with the Acura otherwise you won’t be disappointed with this one.  It has a stellar reliability rating but a below average safety rating.  The V6 gives it plenty of power with a smooth acceleration. The cabin is made of high quality material and is spacious and comfortable.  It comes standard with leather seats, 10-way power seat adjustment, sunroof, push button start and eight-speaker system with auxiliary jack. Upgrades include navigation, Bluetooth, power rear sunshade and upgraded stereo.  It has a 3.5 liter V6 with 272hp and 19/27mpg.

2011 Buick Regal Review

These used cars offer the buyers a midsized sedan with a sporty upgrade that can compete with most upscale models in its class. While its cousin the LaCrosse appeals to those who want a quiet, peaceful car to cruise around town the Regal offers a sporty luxury not found in Buicks in recent years. The Regal has received rave reviews across the board.  It has solid reliability and safety ratings with a good balance of performance and fuel economy. It has a styling exterior and comfortable interior with enough space for you and your passengers.  It has a 2.4 liter L4 engine with 182hp and 19/30mpg.

About Calvin Escobar

The Car scene is so diverse Where I come from, most enthusiasts recognize the amazing engineering (particularly the engines). The bulk of the ridicule originates from the manner in which many of the vehicles are modded/maintained. Thus, the jokes and or hate tends to be aimed more at the owner rather than the machine. All of which makes seeing properly sorted old Toyota's and Hondas at car meets, auto shows, and track days all the more refreshing.

At Autowise, we envision ourselves as not just a automobile blog or an automobile news website, instead we see our website as a platform to connect all automobile enthusiast and provide them with all the information they need.
