Bimota’s Supercharged Impeto and Tesi 3D Café Racer
A Bimota Cafe Racer And Supercharged Model? It’s True!
Bimota have just unveiled their supercharged beasts at EICMA – both powered by 162hp Testastretta engines from a Ducati Diavel, they’re a sight to behold.
The Supercharged Impeto
Having only just been unveiled, there isn’t a hell of a lot of information, but we’ll keep you updated over the weekend. First up, we have the Bimota Impeto, a self proclaimed “hyper naked” bike powered by a 162hp Testastretta engine, with an optional supercharger, that promises a power and torque increase of 15% to 20%. And when you’re already riding a powerful 1198cc V-twin, an extra boost goes a long way.
Bimota have specially designed the supercharger technology around the Ducati engine to make really make them fly; they’ve even gone as far as to say that the supercharged Impeto is now a “true tyre burner.” Apart from the optional supercharger, the Impeto also comes with ride by wire throttle, traction control and ABS. Bimota have also promised an optional carbon fiber swing arm and frame tubes. Which is nice…if you can afford it. But how about a Bimota Cafe Racer?
The Bimota Cafe Racer
Next up, Bimota have also unveiled their Tesi 3D RaceCafe, which is a genuine factory built Bimota cafe racer version of the already existing, hub-center-steered Tesi 3D Naked. It has the option of being able to be raised or lowered by as much as 23mm via the front and rear swing arms, with a simple adjustment.
If you’re interested in building your own Bimota, the company have also said that they will soon be offering a kit to convert its BMW S1000RR engine’d BB3. The kit conversion comes with a complete rolling chassis, and basically all of the parts that you’d need to build a complete and fully functional motorcycle, all except from the engine and electrics (and electronics packages) that you’d need to get from BMW… If you’re interested, that is.
