The BMW “S310R” Super Sport HP1 Concept – And More!
The S310R: Oberdan Bezzi shows us just how versatile the little BMW can be
Updated August 22, 2018
A stunning concept idea that transforms the BMW G310R into the BMW S310R or “SuperSport HP1” throws an interesting iron into the 300cc sportsbike fire. If you had to choose between a Kawasaki Ninja 300, a Yamaha R3, the new Suzuki GSX-250R, or a Honda CBR300RR, whatever decision you made in the end would be a tough one. Add a BMW machine into the line-up, and your decision making just got a hell of a lot harder. Or easier, if you’re a big BMW fan…like we are.
This Is What The BMW G310R Could Be!
The BMW S310R
Now, before you get all hot under the collar, this is an unofficial concept. It’s the work of one of our favorite concept artists, Oberdan Bezzi. And as much as we like the “S310R,” we’re also big fans of the other concepts that accompany it. But let’s talk about the main attraction first. The BMW S310R concept is a fully faired racing machine that borrows heavily from BMW’s flagship HP4 beast. It sharp in all the right places, as aerodynamic as hell, and an absolute joy to gaze upon. Although we’ve labelled it an unofficial concept, let’s not forget that the G310R platform was developed in partnership with India’s TVS…and they’ve already been working on a racing variant called the Akula, which you can learn more about here.
Next up on the list, Oberdan Bezzi has treated us with the G310CR Classic Racer concept, which takes its inspiration straight from the café racer scene. It comes complete with classic spoked wheels, a retro-racer front fairing, a modified fuel tank, and of course, a round headlight at front. If it ever went into production, you can bet your beard and pop-up craft beer stall that they’d sell like hot cakes.
If you’re not content with the race machine or the café racer, then how about the BMW G310GS Classic Scrambler concept? This one looks like a nice mash up of the modern R nineT scrambler and the more retro version of the famous GS line. Naturally, it has the up swept exhaust, a more scrambler-esque fuel tank, knobbly off-road tires, a flatter seat, and higher fenders.
As you can see, the little 310cc, 34 hp BMW G310R is quite the versatile package. These might be unofficial concepts, but don’t forget that BMW has already shown off a miniature G310R/GS recently…so perhaps a whole new line will emerge in the near future? If it does, we want a crack on the BMW S310R…because it looks like the absolute king of the 300cc sportsbike class.
