Chery, SAIC or Hyundai ? Who will get the lions share of the Chrysler corpse?
Chinese Car News | CCTFebruary 18, 20078:54 pm
With SAIC and Chery both wanting to get into the global arena and not just rely on sales in their own back yard, could they possibly buy Chrysler ?
Car-industry sources say the other possible bidders for Chrysler would be Chinas Chery and SAIC, two automotive companies with global ambitions. SAIC has expanded rapidly in recent years, and two years ago made an abortive attempt to buy MG Rover. SAIC withdrew, but not before securing the rights to Rover designs. MG Rover later collapsed into administration.

These days China can do just about anything. In my last trip to China in 2004, I noticed a lot of olive-green painted motorcycles
plain and drab.On closer look, they have opposed twin cylinders and a drive shaft. I could be wrong, but I could have sworn they
were piece-by-piece copies of a BMW R-69. Maybe the patent ran out.
