I remember when Nike and all of the shoe company started making Air Jordans and other shoes designed for basketball players. “Some day, I’ll have shoes designed for me”, I used to tell all of my friends. However, after seeing the badass concept Chevy Suburban that Chevrolet created for the famous country music star, Luke Bryan, I think that I would much rather get a nice vehicle dedicated to my name rather than a pair of ratty old shoes.
Luke Bryan is well known for having a long list of outdoor and sports hobbies. Bryan has also said that he has always been a huge fan of Chevrolet’s vehicles and that his family had always purchased the company’s trucks for their farm that he grew up on. For these reasons, the company saw opportunity and worked with the country singer with a large imagination, to create the ultimate SUV that has the utility of a truck, and a whole Christmas list of accessories for outdoor play.
The Luke Bryan edition of the 2018 Chevy Suburban was featured at this years SEMA show, which took place last weekend at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. As the aftermarket industry continues to grow, events like the SEMA convention continue to become more important to automotive manufacturers like Chevrolet. The show attracts thousands of domestic, as well as international, attendees each year and is a great tool that automotive companies have been using to communicate new products to current and new potential customers.
The company started the concept with a stock 2018 Suburban and lifted the suspension by 22″ and slapped on a nice set of rugged 35-inch tall off-road tires, making the vehicle an excellent performer in all types of terrain. I’m a huge fan of the sporty and rugged exterior that also includes a great sense of luxury and style. The Suburban has a Hunter Bronze finish paint job with carbon accents and camoflauge graphics. The company’s designers and the country singer added their signature with a custom “Huntin’, Fishin’, and Lovin'” emblem.
The Huntin’, Fishin’, Lovin’ concept also has modifications to the back liftgate for easy loading/unloading. There are plenty of badass features to the interior of the vehicle as well such as custom trim, tough & easy-to-clean upholstery, rear-facing 3rd-row seating. Another factor that was well thought out was the space factor. The Suburban has many versatile features that help create plenty of storage/carrying space and includes a large equipment carrier, placed on the top of the tank-like utility vehicle.
On top of all of the interior/exterior features and upgrades, the 2018 Bryan concept is powered by a direct-injected 5.3-liter V8 small block with 355 horsepower and 383 lbs of torque. It features a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Burban’s locking rear-differenctial provides sure-footed traction and with the 4WD w/ NHT Max Trailering Package, it’s capable of towing a trailer with up to 8,000 lbs of weight.
All in all, we’re very impressed with the country singer’s taste and all of the upgrades that Chevy came up with to equip this beast. It’s got all of the power and sport utility that any sportsman would possibly need and provides all of that with a great luxious, while rugged, design.
