Dealers To Get Sneak Peek At 2018 Jeep Grand Wagoneer This Fall
Published June 10, 2015
Everyone will remember the iconic Jeep Grand Wagoneer, at least if they were born before 1982. In all its wood-panelled glory, the tank of an jeep was one of the longest running production vehicles that hadn’t really changed in 28 model years.
Fiat-Chrysler has long reported a return of the Grand Wagoneer, and now news has come down that this fall dealers will get a sneak peak at the newly reincarnated model. In August FCA is hosting an event for dealership personnel in Las Vegas who will get the first glimpse. It’s a wise decision on FCA’s part as dealers can be a fickle bunch.
The Grand Wagoneer will be based on the 2017 Grand Cherokee, also slated for a complete revamp. It’s on this new platform that Fiat-Chrysler will attempt to take back a segment of the market dominated by imports. The upper end luxury SUV’s produced by Lexus, Land Rover, and Mercedes-Benz will all have targets on their backs. Sergio Marchionne will be hanging his hat on the new flagship Wagoneer to revive this segment for Chrysler. It will be the first for the beleaguered brand to have a third row seat since the less than commanding Commander was relieved of its duties.
