2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Reviews To Check Out!

Probably one of the most eye-catching trucks on the streets today is the 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. The 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 is ranked number 2 out of 10 Full size pick up trucks (the Ford F-150 takes the cake). But, that’s no reason to change your mind about the Ram. Out of 36 Truck test drive reviewers, the majority of them ranked the Dodge Ram as actually having better performance than the Ford. And, when it came to body styling and exterior, the majority of these drivers chose the Dodge Ram over the F-150.

For piece of mind, the trucks that ranked immediately below the Dodge Ram are the Chevrolet Silverado 2012, the Toyota Tundra, and the Chevrolet Avalanche. Here is a brief breakdown for each of these trucks:

Truck reviewers said that the Silverado didn’t pack the punch they were hoping for. The motor lacked power and when compared with other trucks, the Silverado wasn’t able to wow reviewers with it’s limited interior styling options.

When it comes to the Toyota Tundra 2012, Reviewers weren’t too happy with the interior design and styling options as well. The Tundra had the power and choice of more than capable engines, but the lack of luxury level interior was enough for people to look towards the Dodge Ram instead.

Finally, the Chevrolet Avalanche. With only one engine option, reviewers were already scratching their heads. In addition, a common criticism with the Avalanche was that while in the driver’s seat, the visibility was poor. And lastly, many reviewers commented that the cost for the truck was way over-priced when compared to other trucks in the same class.

All in all, none of the reviewers voted the 2012 Silverado, Tundra and Avalanche as “Bad Trucks.” They simply preferred the 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, overall.

One thing to mention about the 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 many reviewers were concerned with it’s somewhat low safety report rating (when compared to other trucks – the F-150 and Tundra had the highest ratings). This is definitely not something to make light of, but, it is also important to know that the Ram scored a 7.6 out of 10 in it’s safety rating – a fairly high number when compared with vehicles overall.

Reviewers gave an extended thumbs up to the 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 when it came to it’s drive-ability. As already mentioned, the majority of reviewers loved the power of the 2012 Ram. The most powerful of the Dodge Ram motors is the 5.7 L HEMI powered V-8 which produces 390 horsepower and 407 ft. lbs of torque. Dodge also offers a V6 motor option that pushes 215 horsepower and 235 ft. lbs of torque. The gas on the 5.7 V8 HEMI motor averages 14 city and 20 highway, while the V6 motor adds a few more miles, 17 city and 25 highway.

One of the most interesting thing test drivers said about the 2012 Dodge Ram is that the truck drove like a car! You can’t say that about many full size pick up trucks. Also, the suspension on the new Dodges have been tweaked so superbly that the ride was silky smooth.

The website awards the 2012 Dodge Ram with “2012 Best Full Size Pickup Truck for the Money.” So, if you want bang for the buck. The 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 may be the way to go. If you’re still thinking about which truck to get, know, of course, that everyone has their own preferences. And so, the best thing to do is to save a day for yourself to go out to the dealerships and test drive these new 2012 trucks.

The Car scene is so diverse Where I come from, most enthusiasts recognize the amazing engineering (particularly the engines). The bulk of the ridicule originates from the manner in which many of the vehicles are modded/maintained. Thus, the jokes and or hate tends to be aimed more at the owner rather than the machine. All of which makes seeing properly sorted old Toyota's and Hondas at car meets, auto shows, and track days all the more refreshing.
