The 10 Fastest Electric Scooter Models You Can Buy!

What Is The Fastest Electric Scooter Out There?

Magnum Imax S1+

How fast do you think the fastest electric scooter can go? If you’re still stuck in the past and think that those old-school kick scooters are just for kids then prepare to be educated. At the end of the 80s, there was a rising interest in attaching little 2-stroke motors to micro scooters and the resulting go-ped phenomenon was born. But times have changed, and technology has evolved. Sleek, lightweight batteries now power strong electric motors, and the days of cumbersome, smoky internal combustion engine-powered scooters are over. These days, you can get a small, compact, and relatively eco-friendly electric scooter for an affordable price – but what if you really want the best performance that money can buy? These are the most advanced and fastest electric scooter models that you can currently buy!

What Is The Fastest Electric Scooter You Can Buy?

#01. NANROBOT LS7 Electric Scooter – 52 MPH

NANROBOT LS7 - The Fastest Electric Scooter

Yes, you read that right! The NanRobot LS7 boasts an incredible maximum speed of 52 mph, making it the fastest electric scooter on the market. Is it too fast for a little scooter? Probably, but it has more than just an impressive top speed. Powered by two independent 1800W brushless high-speed motors, the NanRobot LS7 has the ability to climb hills with ease, accelerate in quick fashion, and thanks to the addition of a top shelf 35 Ah 60V lithium battery, the LS7 also packs an impressive maximum range of 56 miles. The speed and range are enough to make this a seriously viable commuting weapon, and when you learn that it has a 100% charge time of around 5 hours, it makes the whole package even more appealing.

If you combine the maximum speed and performance specs of the NanoRobot LS7 with the scooter’s other features, such as front and rear hydraulic disc brakes and a clever electronic braking system that eases the brakes to a steady stop in the event of an emergency, 11-inch pneumatic tires and a shock damping system that to handle anything from hard bumps to slippery terrain, and an easy fold-away system for easy storage you can see why this scooter is one of the most sought after models out there. It can handle a maximum load of 330 lbs…but it’s not without its downsides. It’s a heavy thing weighing in at 87 lbs, and it’s not exactly cheap either with a price tag skating around the $3,000 marker.

Top Features:

  • Top Speed: 52 MPH
  • Max Range: 56 Miles
  • 60V 35Ah Lithium Battery
  • LED Headlight
  • USB Charging Capabilities
  • Electronic Braking System (EBS)

#02. Dualtron Thunder – 50 MPH

Dualtron Thunder

Next up, we have the Dualtron Thunder. This cute scooter shares a lot of DNA with the above mentioned NanRobot model, but with some very welcome differences. Ranked as the second fastest electric scooter out there, the Dualtron Thunder actually requires a little bit of tweaking to hit that heady max speed of 50 mph, because it’s limited to an uninspiring 15 miles per hour straight out of the box. Powered by two hub mounted electric motors that offer a huge 5400W combined output, the Dualtron Thunder has what it takes to go seriously fast, and it can also hit some crazy speeds off-road too, which could make it more of an attractive prospect for those looking to tear up the dirt rather than the city streets.

The secret behind Dualtron’s off-road prowess is the unique 45 step control suspension system which offers 3 motor axis distance control settings, a 3-step arm angle control system, and 5 types of rubber that control the overall shock absorption, offering 45 different combinations of damping altogether. Add in hydraulic disc brakes with a clever ABS system, wide tubeless tires, an LED dash, LED headlights and brake lights, and a total traveling range of 75 miles courtesy of the scooter’s 60V 35Ah lithium battery. Again, it’s not without downsides. It’s heavy, weighing in at 88 lbs, and expensive too with a price tag that floats around the $3,700 region. It’s worth the money for sure, but it’s also a lot of money for a scooter.

Top Features:

  • Top Speed: 50 MPH
  • Maximum Range: 75 Miles
  • Maximum Load: 260 lbs
  • Maximum Gradient: 35 Degrees (approx.)
  • Dual Braking System With ABS
  • Foldable For Easy Storage

#03. Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11 – 50 MPH

Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11

In joint second place for the fastest electric scooter, we’ve got the Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11. Unlike the other two, which market themselves as either road-focused or dual-purpose, the Wolf Warrior 11 is a pure bred off-roader. That’s not to say that you can’t use it on the roads, but if you want to make the most of this monster, you’re going to want to tackle some trails with it. Can it really perform off-road though? Well, it does come powered by two 1200W hub motors that boast a combined 5400W of pulling power, which promise to help riders scale gradients of up to 45 degrees – which is pretty decent. Add in fat 11 inch pneumatic tubeless tires, and water-resistant electronics and you can see that it was built for trail thrashing.

That’s not all though. The Wolf Warrior also boasts a heavy duty suspension system to help take the edge off of those off-road jumps and bumps. Up front, it has a front fork style suspension system with hydraulic springs, and a two spring rear shock assembly. There’s also a front and rear hydraulic disc brake setup connected to E-ABS (Electronic Anti-Lock Braking System) to keep those wheels from locking up when you need to throw the anchors down in a hurry. Again, it’s a heavy beast, but the extra heft is required to make this the powerful and robust beast that it is. It’s also expensive, but for an asking price of around $2,800, it’s excellent value.

Top Features:

  • Top Speed: 50 MPH
  • Maximum Range: 93 Miles (Eco Mode) / 56 Miles (Turbo)
  • Maximum Load: 330 lbs
  • Maximum Gradient: Up To 45 Degrees
  • Water Resistant Electrics
  • LG-made 60V 35 Ah Lithium Battery

#04. NANROBOT D5+ – 40 MPH

NANROBOT D5+

It’s time for the second NanRobot product on our list: the D5+. The NanRobot D-series scooters are excellent for urban mobility and you can’t go wrong with any of their models, however, we think the D5+ has the edge over the D4+ since it offers a touch more range and usability. The NanRobot D5+ comes equipped with twin 1000W motors that power the front and rear wheels, propelling the scooter to speeds of up to 40 mph. The motors are fed by a strong 6 Ah 52 V battery which provides a maximum range of 52 miles, depending on how you ride it; it has two drive modes that switch between dual and single motor drive, changeable on the fly by the handy push of a button.

The speed and range aren’t the only positive points of this compact electric scooter. The model rolls on a set of durable 10 inch tires that keep you stuck to the ground with the help of an advanced shock absorption system, making for a smooth and comfortable ride experience. The NanRobot D+ also features front and rear disc brakes that provide excellent stopping power. This is a great choice for riding around the urban jungle. It’s not as advanced as the LS7 but it’s more than capable for what most commuters and city dwellers would need one for. It’s still a heavy thing at around 70 lbs but it’s more manageable than the others listed above. It also has a more attractive price tag of around $2,000 too. What we like best about the D5+ over the D4+ is the addition of road going accessories like turn signals.

Top Features:

  • Top Speed: 40 MPH
  • Maximum Range: 52 Miles
  • Maximum Load: 330 lbs
  • Aluminum Alloy Frame
  • LED Headlight and Rear Light
  • Lithium Battery With A 10 Hour 100 % Charge Time

#05. Qiewa Q1 Hummer – 35 MPH

Qiewa Q1 Hummer

The Qiewa Q1 Hummer is a bit of a wildcard. The brand name isn’t that well known in the States yet, but back home in Qiewa’s native Taiwan, the company is carving out quite a large name for itself thanks to the impressive specifications of their electric scooters. While it’s not the fastest electric scooter in production, it’s one of the most practical. With a maximum speed of 35 mph, and a maximum range of 60 miles per battery cycle, the Qiewa is an ideal choice for city dwellers looking to get from A to B in a fast and efficient manner. Manufactured from tough aluminum that comes with an IP6 waterproof certificate, this model can take a bashing and endure some heavy weather at the same time. If that wasn’t enough, it comes with a bucket load of useful features too.

Equipped with front and rear suspension that can actually perform reasonable well off-road, front and rear disc brakes that can bring you to a stop, and other thoughtful touches like headlights, a taillight, side lights, a very loud security alarm and horn, and a keyless remote, the Q1 Hummer is surprisingly advanced. If you want more, you can also purchase an option seat to turn this stand up scooter into a cool street cruiser, should you feel the need. And the price? The price for one of these usually skates around the $1399 marker.

Top Features:

  • Top Speed: 35 MPH
  • Maximum Range: 60 Miles
  • Maximum Load: 550 lbs (claimed, not tested by us)
  • Keyless Remote Security Control
  • A Comprehensive Lighting System
  • USB Phone Charging Capabilities

#06. UberScoot 1600 – 30 MPH

UberScoot 1600

Compared to the rest of the list, 30 miles per hour might not see all that fast, but let us just say that 30 miles per hour is plenty fast. Especially when you’re rolling on little wheels and not a lot else! So while this isn’t the fastest electric scooter, 30 mph is more than enough for most people to handle. But if you’re still not convinced about the performance of the UberScoot 1600 then here’s some extra information: it’s powered by a 48 volt SLA batter that powers a very tough and durable 1600 watt motor that can conquer a wide range of terrains and climb even the steepest of hills. It’s not as light as it could be, weighing it at a heavy 117 lbs, but it does fold up nicely and can easily be stored in the trunk of your car or tuck away on your train to and from work.

The range isn’t the greatest either, with an average range of about 12 miles per cycle. That might not sound like much, but most people aren’t going to be scooting more than that on their daily commute…not if they’re taking a scooter to work anyway. Plus, you can always give it some juice while you’re at work too, effectively doubling your daily range. Or you can invest in a lithium battery pack which is an optional extra that increases the range and speed, and reduces the overall weight of the scooter. That’s an optional extra though. Stock equipment included front and rear disc brakes, front and rear lights, a chain drive, and a cool key ignition. The price is also more attractive at around $750, if you can find one of these electric scooters for sale anywhere though – they’re hard to find.

Top Features:

  • Top Speed: 30 MPH
  • Maximum Range: 12 Miles
  • Maximum Load: 265 lbs
  • Cam-Link Suspension & Adjustable Rear Shocks
  • Removable Seat
  • LED Battery Level Indicator

#07. eDrift UH-ES295 Fat Tire Scooter – 30 MPH

eDrift UH-ES295

How about something a little different? This cool Fat Tire scooter from eDrift goes against the grain. Rather than looking like a slim and sleek piece of smart technology, this stunner from eDrift has a retro, low-rider vibe that’s slightly reminiscent of a nice fat tire Harley or something similar. It’s big and brash, and it has some impressive specs too. Powered by a hearty 30Ah 60V battery that delivers power to a 2000W hub motor, the eDrift Fat Tire scooter can hit a max speed of up to 30 miles per hour and can travel a very impressive 65 miles on a single battery cycle, with enough juice to carry passengers weighing up to 350 lbs.

It’s a smooth and comfortable scooter to ride, equipped with plush suspension at the front, front and rear disc brakes, and a seat for those trips that are little too long for just standing. To be honest, it does lack a lot of the top shelf parts and additions that you’d get with most of the other models on this list, but what it lacks in fancy tech it more than makes up for in bold simplicity and pure aesthetic appeal. There’s no denying that this is a head turner. And the actual performance specs are not bad at all. 30 MPH, a maximum range of 65 miles per charge, and a full 100% charge time of 6 to 8 hours? That is not bad at all. What about the price though? These Fat Tire electric scooters can be found for around $1750 online.

Top Features:

  • Top Speed: 30 MPH
  • Maximum Range: 65 Miles
  • Maximum Load: 350 lbs
  • Cool Retro Design
  • A Plush Seat For Long Rides
  • Overall Weight Of 150 lbs

#08. MassimoMotor KXD – 30 MPH

MassimoMotor KXD

Cheap, efficient, fast, and effective – those are four words that accurately describe this cool electric scooter. It’s not nearly as advanced as many of the others listed above but it’s a low-cost alternative that offers a different experience. It might only be powered by a weaker 350W motor, but it’s still powerful enough to propel riders to speeds of up to 30 MPH. The low power motor helps keep the Massimo KXD’s overall weight down to a reasonable 30 lbs, so when it’s folded you can actually carry it places without breaking your back in the process. The lower power also makes the overall power consumption considerably lower than most, but it doesn’t have a particularly long distance range though.

One full charge, which takes approximately 4.5 hours to reach 100%, is good for a maximum range of up to 5 miles. It’s certainly not built for long-distance travel, but for those looking for something to supplement their commute by public transport, this is a particularly effective machine. You’ll be disappointed if you want to go off-roading on one of these, since there’s not much in the way of practical suspension. However, what it lacks in springs it makes up for in fancy technology, because it comes with a cool digital display that keeps you informed of your speed, mileage, and your battery life. Not bad for a scooter that retails for around $450.

Top Features:

  • Top Speed: 30 MPH
  • Maximum Range: 5 Miles
  • Maximum Load: 350 lbs (untested)
  • Smart LED Display
  • Lightweight Design For Portability
  • Three Wheels For Ultimate Stability

#09. Mercane WideWheel – 25 MPH

Mercane WideWheel

Next up, we’ve got the Mercane WideWheel: a small and compact, fun and fast, electric scooter that’s perfect for conquering the urban jungle. This sleek and futuristic lookin’ scooter comes equipped with  strong 500 Watt motors that can propel the Mercane WideWheel to speeds of up to 25 mph, and some riders have claimed speeds even as high as 28 mph at times too. The maximum speed is complimented with a very respectable maximum range of 20 miles too, which makes it a very versatile and usable mode of transport. If that wasn’t enough, it only weighs 37.9 lbs! It’s not going to win any prizes for being a featherweight, but 37.9 lbs is definitely a manageable weight for when you need to pick it up and carry it around.

The Mercane WideWheel also comes equipped with a full front and rear suspension system, a rear disc brake, and a set of very wide tires to boost traction and keep you firmly stuck to the ground, whilst adding a bit of extra shock absorption in the process. It also features a wide deck for additional riding comfort, which is a nice extra touch that many other electric scooters don’t have. On top of that, the scooter also has front and rear LED lighting and a very cool kick stand for easy upright parking. While it’s not the fastest electric scooter for sale, we’re big fans of this very practical little run around. And the price? About $889 – which is very reasonable for what this product offers.

Top Features:

  • Top Speed: 25 MPH
  • Maximum Range: 20 Miles
  • Maximum Load: 220 lbs
  • Extra Wide Wheels For A Smooth Ride
  • Lightweight Chassis Weighing 37.9 lbs
  • Full Front And Rear Suspension

#10. EcoReco M5 – 22 MPH

EcoReco M5

Ok, there are other faster electric scooters that could make the list instead of this one, but the point of this list is to inform readers about what’s currently on the market, readily available, and practical. That’s why the EcoReco M5 E-Scooter makes the cut. It’s technically fast enough to make the cut, but it’s not the max speed of 22 miles per hour that makes us love this one so much: it’s the overall package that it comes in. This is a cleverly designed and well-built scooter that’s worthy of your time and money. So it can hit 22 mph, it has a range of up to 20 miles, but what else makes it so good?

The charging time is an excellent feature, being able to charge from 0% to 80% in 2.5 hours, which is pretty epic when compared to other charge times quoted out there. If that wasn’t enough, it can fold down in less than 2 seconds, into a light (ish) and portable 36 lbs, which makes it great for commuters. On top of that, the EcoReco M5 boasts a very smart backlit LED screen as a dashboard, with a handy standard tripod mount which can be used to attach a GoPro action camera or a universal phone mount. It also has other practical features like regenerative braking to help recoup some battery life too. It doesn’t have any lights or a horn though, which is a bit of a shame. Still, for a price tag of about $750, depending on what retailer you’re buying from, it’s an excellent package.

Top Features:

  • Top Speed: 22 MPH
  • Maximum Range: 20 Miles
  • Maximum Load: 280 lbs
  • Smart LED Dashboard
  • Regenerative Braking To Conserve Battery Life
  • Integrated Technology Mounts

Bonus: Magnum Imax S1+ – 20 MPH

Magnum Imax S1+

This compact electric scooter is a worthy model to consider if you’re looking for a small, lightweight, and fast little commuting tool. It might not be the fastest, but a max speed of 20 MPH is plenty to get from the train to the office, or from home to the office considering that it boasts an excellent range of 25 miles – which is enough to get you from A to C via B. And back. If that isn’t enough range to get you to and from work, you’ll be pleased to know that the Magnum Imax S1+ has a very swift charging time of about 4.5 hours. Driven by a direct drive rear hub 500W motor, and powered by a sleek 48V and 10 Ah battery, the Magnum Imax S1+ is good enough to tackle reasonably steep hills with ease, and carve through city streets without breaking a sweat. It’s undeniably quite a cool little number.

Armed with a mechanical disc brake, pneumatic tires, a brake activated LED rear light, a small headlight, and a USB charging slot, the Imax S1+ is packed full of the right stuff for urban dwellers. There are downsides though. The throttle can only be activated once you’re already in motion, so you have to manually kick it along the road a bit before the motor takes over. Secondly, the brakes aren’t as good as they could be. It’s not a big problem if you know that before hitting the top speeds but it’s something to be aware of. It’s also not that cheap at a price of around $1,299. There are cheaper and more efficient models out there. We just like this one because it’s incredibly fun to ride around.

Top Features:

  • Top Speed: 20 MPH
  • Maximum Range: 25 Miles
  • Maximum Load: 250 lbs + (No Information Available)
  • Easy To Fold And Carry
  • USB Port For Device Charging
  • Cool Monochromatic LDC Display

Electric scooters are becoming very popular these days. Back in the day, electric powered vehicles of any kind were slow and cumbersome due to the fact that batteries were large, heavy things and electric motors were big and unwieldy. These days, things have changed. A new focus on electric technology has given birth to small and lightweight batteries, ultra light chassis components, and unbelievably small electric motors. Today, we have a wide range of electric powertrains and technologies to choose from, so naturally if there’s something they can be attached to, they’re being attached to! When there’s a wheel, there’s a way. Here’s all you need to know about modern electric scooters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What Is An Electric Scooter?

A: An electric scooter is a confusing name. Technically speaking, a scooter is a small internal combustion engine powered motor vehicle that often gets confused with a moped. However, in modern usage, a scooter can also refer to a small mode of transport which consists of a board suspended between two wheels, controlled by an upright handlebar. A manual scooter is propelled by leg power, with a rider kicking along to provide momentum. An electric scooter does away with the manual labor and instead relies on electric motors to provide drive. These modern electric scooters can hit impressive top speeds and thanks to their compact nature, they’re becoming a huge hit.

Q: Who Are Electric Scooters For?

A: Traditionally, a scooter is seen as a kid’s toy. While there certainly are electric scooters for kids available on the market, the type we’re talking about are definitely better off in the hands of adults. These days, many adults are turning to electric scooters to help them with their daily commute. Since they’re very portable, it’s easy to fold them down and take them on public transport and then unfold them and ride the last leg of a journey to work.

Obviously, there’s more to these little scooters than commuting – there are also sports models for hitting fast speeds, performing tricks, and there are even off-road capable trail riding versions too. Can children ride them? Sure, but with speeds in excess of 20 mph, they could be too fast and dangerous for young riders.

Q: How Much Are Electric Scooters?

A:

How much does an electric scooter cost? Well, these machines come in a variety of styles with different performance specs and technology. They can range in price from as little as a couple of hundred dollars and can skyrocket to prices well in excess of three thousand dollars. Naturally, the prices depend on what you want out of the model. If you’re looking for something with a low range, bare bones technology, and a lower maximum speed, then you can score a ride for a few hundred dollars. For a vehicle with a massive rage of over 40 miles per charge, top speeds over 30 mph, and fancy displays, hydraulic brakes, and sophisticated suspension, be prepared to dig deep into that pocket of yours.

Electric technology is rapidly evolving though. What is expensive one day can devalue in price the next. With advances in battery life and the efficiency of electric motors, we foresee that today’s top of the range models will be eclipsed by that of tomorrows, and the prices will fluctuate accordingly. What’s expensive today, will surely be more affordable in a year or two’s time.

Q: Where Is The Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter On This List?

A: It’s not. While the Xiaomi Mi electric scooter is one of the most widely used and more famous models on the market, it’s not one of the fastest. It is a cool, if not powerful, electric scooter though, and offers some great performance, such as a max speed of 15.5 mph and a maximum range of around 18.6 miles depending on how you ride it. It’s also compact and lightweight which makes it highly portable and useful for commuters. Unfortunately, it’s not fast enough to make our list of the top fastest electric scooter models currently for sale. Not bad for about $330, so keep it in mind if you’re searching for something to get around on.
