Ferrari Powered 32 Ford with a Pair of Turbos
Published December 18, 2015
This Ferrari powered 1932 Ford is a very unique build that features a twin turbo configuration way out of the ordinary. 1932 Ford Coupes have been a very popular automobile to build into a Hot Rod for decades; but nobody has ever done it like this before. After a complete tear down and frame off restoration they dropped in a 32 valve Ferrari V8. Of course; all Ford Coupes have two turbochargers mounted to the front bumper.
Alan Lee Designs and Vintage Flatz took this unique build to the 2015 SEMA Show as a non-running mock-up that they expect to have up and running sometime in 2016. This build started with a rusted shell of a 1932 Ford Coupe body. They completely assembled a whole new frame and suspension piece by piece from the ground up. They completely restored the rusted shell of a body and topped it off with a brand new paint job. When that was all accomplished they added a whole lot of rubber to the ground with custom wheels and huge racing slick style tires.
The unusual engine selection; the 32 valve Ferrari V-8 will be fitted to the two T4 type Turbonetics Turbochargers to accomplish the transition from a mock-up to a running street rod. Mounting the turbochargers to the front bumper is definitely a very unique concept. The horsepower they will provide will be the key to the success of this project and the location definitely gains attention to their existence.
This build definitely took a lot of creativity and modifications to accomplish and it is by all means one of a kind. The photo gallery is absolutely amazing showing almost every aspect of this muck-up build for SEMA from start to finish.
