Greatwall’s Tianjin factory to come online soon and will focus on export market

The first phase of Great Wallâs Tianjin production base is scheduled to start operation this August, with an annual capacity of 250,000 vehicles.

With an investment of about 8.5 billion yuan, Great Wallâs new production base in Tianjin will be constructed in three phases. The overall capacity totals 800,000 vehicles. It will make cars, SUVs, and MPVs for exports.

The phase I project has completed construction, and will start trial production from this month and start mass production in August.

Meanwhile, the phase II project, with a planned capacity of 250,000 vehicles, has started construction. It will make eight SUV and car models, including Hover H6, Tengyi C70. All of the three phases are expected to be put into use in 2015.
