Hellcat vs. Durango vs. Raptor

Top $70,000 Models Go Toe-to-Toe

For the ultimate showdown, nothing beats an old-fashioned drag race between some of the hottest models on the road. We are not talking about the races you go to on a Friday night, where hotrods and built-up machines go their hardest. No, we are talking about a couple of gearheads going toe-to-toe on a vacant track with their stock prized possessions.  The video below features the 2017 Dodge Challenger Hellcat, the 2017 Dodge Durango SRT, and the 2017 Ford F150 Raptor battling for supreme bragging rights. All models range around the $70,000 mark, but have very different specs to offer you.

Although the 450-horsepower turbocharged Ford F-150 Raptor has fewer pistons than its previous edition, Ford upped the horsepower and the torque with their most efficient V6 EcoBoost yet. The 2017 2nd-gen 3.5-liter V6 with twin turbochargers and direct fuel injection breaths easy with its true dual-exhaust design. But how does it stand up against those with higher horses and better weight ratios?

There is a lot to be said for the new line of computerized launch controls. As seen with the Dodge Durango SRT and its 475 horsepower naturally-aspirated 6.4 Liter Hemi, when paired with the right muscle, launch control will tuck you back into your seat before you even realize your not in control. But how does all of that power perform at a mile above sea level where naturally asperated engines lose about 17% of their power, and will it be enough to beat out Ford’s twin turbochargers?

Grab the red key, because we want to measure the full ability of the famous Dodge Challenger Hellcat’s monstrous 707-horsepower supercharged Hemi. That amount of power is hard to beat, but with skinny tires and an amateur driver behind the wheel, can its true raw power be unleashed? Find out by watching the entire mashup below. The results may surprise you.

About Calvin Escobar

The Car scene is so diverse Where I come from, most enthusiasts recognize the amazing engineering (particularly the engines). The bulk of the ridicule originates from the manner in which many of the vehicles are modded/maintained. Thus, the jokes and or hate tends to be aimed more at the owner rather than the machine. All of which makes seeing properly sorted old Toyota's and Hondas at car meets, auto shows, and track days all the more refreshing.

At Autowise, we envision ourselves as not just a automobile blog or an automobile news website, instead we see our website as a platform to connect all automobile enthusiast and provide them with all the information they need.
