“Suit Up” With These HJC Marvel Helmets
Who Wants A Marvel Motorcycle Helmet?
If you want a superhero helmet to match your super bike then HJC have what you’re looking for. HJC have released three awesome Marvel themed helmets and unlike a lot of the novelty-themed lids you see out there, HJC are a reputable brand with a proven track record for quality. Sure, they might have received a bit of agro from Jorge Lorenzo last season after a minor malfunction, but on the whole, they’re a good brand. They’d better be, because I’ve got three of their helmets. Mine aren’t Marvel themed though…
Choose Your HJC Marvel Helmet!
The Korean brand has teamed up with Marvel, and they’re producing three iconic helmets celebrating Captain America, Iron Man and The Punisher. The best thing about them though, is that they’re quite pleasing on the eye too – they might wear all the fan boy hallmarks, but they’re not over the top. Depending on what you want out of a helmet, and who your favorite Marvel super hero is, one of the three will definitely suit your needs. So which of these HJC Marvel helmets suits your riding style best?
The Punisher lid comes in black with the classic skull imagery painted on top of the Advanced Poly-carbonate Shell with Advanced Channeling Ventilation. Based on HJC’s CL-17 model, the themed lid will set you back $175. Usually, I’d say that it was too cheap for a helmet but HJC have been good to me thus far…
Next up, we’ve got the Captain America themed helmet. It could probably do without the massive “A” on the front, but the wings on either side do look superb against the blue finish. At the back, it comes with the iconic Captain America shield design. Again, this one is also based on the CL-17, and comes in at the same price as above.
The real jewel though, is the Iron Man helmet. Firstly: because it’s an Iron Man themed helmet. Secondly: because not only does it come with the Iron Man helmet pattern and colors, it also comes with HJC’s RapidFire shield replacement system, Pinlock-ready visor and a One-Touch sun shield – the latter being a three stage adjustable extra-shield that pops down to block out any excessive light. I have this on two of my HJC helmets and it’s a real boon. The Iron Man helmet does come with an amber visor, which you’ll either love or hate. Unlike the two above though, this one is based on the IS-17 helmet platform and costs $250.
The Punished and Captain America helmets are DOT and Snell approved, while the Iron Man lid has only been DOT approved – they’re all set for release next month (May 2016). Pretty cool, but I suppose if you wanted any of these without buying a new bucket, you could just buy a decal and stick it on your existing helmet…
