Introduction Of The Ducati Diavel Titanium Limited Edition
Published November 10, 2014
Not only is the Ducati Diavel Titanium a beautiful piece of machinery, it is also a limited edition of which only 500 will be produced. The sophistication and innovative materials that went into crafting the Diavel Titanium and it’s 162 horsepower are second to none.
Ducati Designers were asked to submit a wish-list as Ducati wanted to take the “what if” approach to create an aggressive superbike guaranteed to dominate the road.
“The challenge of building a muscular silhouette over a pure-bred competition motor had to be met with determination and a delicate touch, and the result is a frontal area that looks like a power athlete on the starting blocks,” explains the team at Ducati Design responsible for the project. “With the front wheel kept close to the Diavel’s body and using the short tail of a sport bike, we were able to blend this muscular design with a chassis that matched.”
The engine will be a liquid cooled Testastretta L-Twin which displaces 1198.4 cc. This beast puts down 162 horsepower at 9,250 RPM with 92 lb-ft of torque. Stainless steel muffler with aluminum tips and zircotech ceramic coated exhaust tubes.
The Chassis you ask? Steel tube trellis finished in a dark chrome. 50mm adjustable front fork by none other than Marzocchi. 17 inch front wheel wrapped with a Pirelli Diablo Rosso II. The rear tire will go 8″ x 17″ and rest inside the same tires as the front. with an adjustable rear shock that includes remote spring preload adjustment. All are stopped but nothing less than 4-piston Brembo’s.
The Diavel Titanium comes in weighing 516 lbs (234 kg) when loaded with a battery and gas tank.
