Is the Jaguar F-Type Sports Coupe by Startech All Show?
Published April 21, 2015
Recently featured at the Geneva Motor Show 2015, Startech dazzled onlookers with its version of the Jaguar F-Type S Coupe. That’s no wonder because there’s plenty to admire about what the company’s tuning package has done to beef up the sporty coupe. The use of color to draw the eye is outstanding from the hints of red mixed with matte black in the spoke wheels to the quilted leather with coordinating red stitching on the leather seats and steering wheel inside. Toss in Startech’s upturned carbon fiber side skirt, full-length fender vent, and edgy front spoiler lip, and this Jaguar F-Type S Coupe bears little resemblance to its stock counterpart.
There’s no question that Startech’s modifications have imbued this Jaguar coupe with pomp and flair, but the question remains: how does the Startech-improved Jaguar F-Type S Coupe perform? While we can’t yet test this attractive car for ourselves, we can venture a guess based on what we know about the stock version and the tweaks that Startech has performed that aren’t entirely cosmetic.
With a supercharged V6 engine putting out 380 hp and a top speed of 178 mph, it’s safe to say this little number packs a punch. It comes with the stock features of sport suspension with adaptive dynamics, driver-selectable active sport exhaust, and a high-performance braking system, which should make it handle well on the open road even at high speeds. Startech’s modifications on the Jaguar F-Type S Coupe, however, have the potential to make its version even more aerodynamic and the larger 21-inch wheels should improve its maneuverability on twists and turns, so we estimate Startech’s tuning package – although chiefly to delight the eye – has some benefits for the driving experience as well.
