Is This The Camaro ZL1 Chevy Is Going To Build?

So far, this is just a rendering from a talented artist named Jackie Eason. The Boys in Bowties better be paying attention, though, as the drawings are hot stuff.
Chevy just unveiled the sixth generation of the Camaro a month ago, and already the throngs are chomping at the bit for high-performance versions. It can’t be long until Chevy rolls them out as they will want to keep up with Ford and Chrysler in the American muscle match. The 707-hp Hellcat series and the Shelby GT350 have drawn accolades from their respective following and Chevrolet would risk a wandering eye from their disciples if they don’t keep pace.
Expect to see a ZL1 eventually, and likely a Z28. The rendering of the ZL1 glares at you through the meanest, most aggressive headlights to date. You can almost hear the growls emanating from under the hood. The crisp, sharp lines scream that this isn’t a car to be messed with. Everything is sharp as a dagger except the exhaust tips. They could use a little more attention, don’t you think?
When it rolls out, expect to see the ZL1 equipped with the LT4 V8 found in the Corvette. The supercharged 6.2 liter won’t have the 707 horses of the Hellcat, but being a lighter car, it may just be able to keep pace. It’s been suggested it could be the 2018 model year, but let’s hope it’s a lot sooner than that. For Chevy’s sake.
