Next generation 750?

Now that the MG3 is practically finished and being pushed out of the factory, the next generation of Roewe 750 is expected to go into development and renders of it have already been leaked to the internet. As well as the Roewe 750 the MG5 is also going to be put into development, the MG5 will be a hatchback model based on the Roewe 350 platform and is expected to be similar in style to the MG6. The new 750 is going to be based on the Buick Regal platform, which of course is the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia platform in the UK and Europe and also the US. The new 750 shown in the renders above seems to be a radical break away from the current Roewe 750 in terms of styling, and leaves behind the traditional English Cuban cigar style of sedan and seems to be more in line with the Buick Regal with it keeping many sharp edges and angled rear. A design rendering of the 750 was posted to CCT before, although it did not give as much detail as the below models.

Information as to what range of engines the 750 will get are unavailable, although it could be that SAIC plan to use the Buick Regals engine line up which consists of naturally aspirated 2.0L and 2.4L engines and also a 2.0T, and not forgetting the 240bhp 2.0 direct injection engine. As the Nanjing R&D center is busy with the NSE (New Small Engine) project, it is likely that SAIC will make full use of GMs Ecotec engine range in the next generation of Roewe 750 whilst the Kavachi engines are likely to stay in production to satisfy SAICs engine buyers such as Dongfeng and Hawtai.
