Italian motorcycle maker’s worldwide sales drops down for the second quarter of 2018
Updated September 18, 2018
- Ducati sales have fallen down by 7.4 percent in the first half of 2018 from the same time last year. The motorcycle maker has so far sold 32,250 in 2018 which generated the company’s 448 million Euros in revenue.
This is the first time in 8 years the company sales have been sluggish. Ducati sales have fallen by 8.9 percent in the second quarter of 2018 as compared to last year. The motorcycle maker sales were 20,319 units as compared to 22,300 units in the same time last year.
The global sales of the SuperSport and Superbike categories saw very good numbers, but the sales for the Ducati bikes were in red. SuperSport and Superbike witnessed a growth rate of 29 percent with global sales of 7,683 units in the first half of this year. The Ducati Panigale V4 and the Multistrada 1260 are the bike models which are driving the growth in sales.
The motorcycle maker did not reveal its growth figures in the global market. Italy the home country for Ducati has seen a positive growth, but the whole motorcycle market has slowed down which could also result in a slowdown in Italy.
Ducati has grown at a very good pace over the last 8 years but the overall slowdown in the global motorcycle market would affect the sales figure of 2018 with big numbers. The sales numbers in the united states would slow down as well, however, the company has not published the units sold in the united states but we expect a drop in over sales.
