Jaguar Stays True to Lineage in 2015 XF 3.0 AWD Sport
Updated April 13, 2015
If making a list of 2015’s most attractive sport sedans, surely the Jaguar XF 3.0 AWD Sport would make the cut. The body style clearly pays homage to the luxury car manufacturer’s sporting heritage with its aerodynamically styled rear spoiler and side sills, sport front bumper, window surrounds, and – of course – a signature black front grille that leaves no doubt that Jaguar is responsible for the design. With five classic paint colors, there’s ample choice to fit a driver’s personal preference, but the question is: does the performance match the sporty exterior?
The Jaguar 2015 XF 3.0 AWD Sport doesn’t disappoint on that front. Although it won’t be doing any laps at Le Mans, it has plenty of power and speed for the open road. This sport model features a 3.0-L V6 supercharged engine that is capable of putting out 340 horses and a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission with intelligent stop/start. This lets the XF 3.0 Sport deftly accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds while maintaining the agility you expect from a rear-wheel drive sports car, yet there’s the option to switch to all-wheel-drive when conditions call for that ability.
There are also all sorts of bells and whistles to enhance the driving experience and make the 2015 XF 3.0 AWD Sport worth its approximately $60K price tag. Simply turn a button to move between park, drive, and reverse, achieve superior comfort with temperature-controlled seats with lumbar support, and use the ultrasonic parking aid to grab that tricky parallel spot with ease. Other extras include a top-of-the-line navigation system, 380-watt Meridian sound system with a whopping 12 speakers, smart key system, blind spot monitor, and heated steering wheel.
