Jeep to launch 2012 Compass and Patriot into China at months end – already seen in China

Jeep already showed its facelift Compass and introduced the Patriot into China at the Shanghai Auto Show last month, but now they are preparing both of them for sale, a launch date for the end of the month has been set aside.
The Patriot had its China premier at the Shanghai Auto Show but it seemed that the Compass was the star of the show, the Compass has been on sale in China for a few years already but has not been as popular as other models such as the Honda CRV or Toyota RAV4, but the facelift Compass is expected to provide strong competition to its rivals.
Both models come with 2.4L engines and CVT gearboxes, prices for the Compass are expected to be much higher than the previous model the last model started at just 230,000rmb but Jeep maybe planning to push it upto 270,000rmb and the Patriot may even touch 300,000rmb despite it being a model below the Compass in the US market.
Interestingly, I stayed in an unnamed hotel two weeks ago and spotted a basement full of new Jeeps, presumably they were there for testing or a road show of some sort.
