Kahn Is About To Deliver A Six-wheeled Defender – The Flying Huntsman 6×6 Soft Top
Luxurious, Exciting, Exclusive, Capable and Awesome
In the sparse world of extreme six-wheeled monster off-roaders, only three cars lately have stirred up the bowl of money enough to be mentioned more than once – the exceptional Mercedes G63 6×6, the Hennessey Performance VelociRaptor 6X6, and the Kahn six-wheeled Defender Flying Huntsman. All of them unique, all of them highly controversial, and all of them excruciatingly expensive.
Now, the Brits – Afzal Kahn, in fact, teased us with a new car – the luxed-up version of the six-wheeled Land Rover Defender with a rear soft-top. Teasing the car on their social media accounts, Kahn Design revealed the car will be called the Flying Huntsman 6×6 Soft Top. This appears to be the absolute most perfect machine for a safari adventure, then. Chill out in the back, put that soft top down and enjoy the scenery. Six wheels, Defender capability, and exceptional quality will make you more than relaxed while bird watching or enjoying the wilderness.
This is Not The First Six-Wheeled Kahn Defender Flying Huntsman
In 2015, Afzal Kahn released the six-wheeled Defender sporting a massively powerful LS3 with more than 430 hp. They definitely sold a few of them, but making these cars in the first place did require a whole lot of effort. I am sure that making a soft top will not be any easier.
Back then I learned that Afzal Kahn had to dramatically redesign the Defender architecture in order to make it all work. Changing the engine, transmission, front axles and suspension required that the car be lengthened by almost 16 inches (in the hood department, that is). Then they widened it by almost 5 inches giving more space for the suspension, new axles, and massive tires. I think this made the car better looking than before.
The same amount of work should be included with the new Flying Huntsman 6×6 Soft Top, and we don’t doubt the craftsmanship will be there. As some report, this one may compete even with a machine such as the G650 Landaulet. After all, Mercedes-Maybach made 100 units and sold every single one of them. There is definitely more rich people who want something as excitingly luxurious as the G650 Landaulet. Kahn will deliver. Soon.
