Kia to Revolutionize the Affordable Sports Car Market with its GT4 Stinger
Published January 20, 2015
Kia has become a huge name for those looking to buy new affordable vehicles, yet they have kept their sites on pleasing the average mid income buyer. With 2015 starting, KIA has begun to change focus and is now looking at going into the sports car market. To prove that they are serious about attracting the sports fans they have released concept pictures along with expected internal specs.
The exterior of the KIA GT4 Stinger Concept shows off a sporty variant of KIA’s tiger nose grill sporting of the long hood. LED headlights are positioned vertically bordering the grill. What may be most prominent is the 20 inch wheels and the carbon fiber splitter below the grill.
Kia has focused a lot on giving the driver a real racecar feel. The GT4 Stinger concept shows off D shaped (flat bottom) steering wheel. Interior door handles have been replaced in the pull straps. The interior floors are decked out in a stylish rubber with beautiful leather seats. KIA also goes away from giving the user the traditional stereo system and instead focuses on giving the driver a real racecar sound to hear.
The Internal Specs:
The Kia GT4 Stinger concept shows off a 6-speed manual transmission vehicle. It will run on a 2 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces an astounding (for Kia standards) a mighty 315 horse powers. The max speed of the car should be 155 mph with a 0-60 mph in 5 seconds. The weight of the car overall will be 2874 pounds that will be distributed equally between the front and back at a 52% and 48% respectively.
Kia has stayed quiet thus far about the pricing of the GT4 Stinger Concept, but with their user-friendly prices in mind, along with the specs of the car we can assume it will cost no more than $40,000, making it very affordable for those looking for a sporty race style car on a budget.
The Kia GT4 Stinger Concept looks sleek and packs the power for anyone wanting an affordable sports car. It is yet to be seen when Kia will pull the trigger and release it, but with the Detroit auto show, approaching it looks like as good as time as ever to see an official debut!
