Lamborghini Huracan Has Been Tuned By Mansory And It’s Closer To Insanity Than Ever

Published February 23, 2015

The engine the old Lamborghini Gallardo had had so much potential that some of the world’s biggest tuners succeeded to tune it to produce in excess of 1.500 HP. It is rather impressive that many of other components on the car were able to withstand triple power digits than that what they were designed for. However, the Lamborghini Gallardo isn’t among the living  any more but its replacement came a few months ago, it is called the Huracan and it features generously modified 5.2 liter V10 the Gallardo used in its prime days.

Until now, we have not been able to see what aftermarket tuners are going to make of the engine in the newest Huracan, but as it produces 610 HP in its stock form it’s not hard to imagine that this can be a Veyron beater. The first tuner who took the car to properly tune it is Mansory from Swiss. We know about them thanks to their mind boggling tuned supercars which include basically every expensive car you can think of. They’ve tuned Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bugattis, Aston Martins and others. Now, they bought a new Huracan and tried to do their magic on this car as well.

Insanity is not powerful enough word to describe the mental state of  Mansory engineers and designers who tune and modify cars. As it is known, Mansory is a well known manufacturer of material based on carbon fiber and they actually supply various manufacturers with this material and they create one of elements only for the cars they are working on. The Lamborghini Huracan is the latest in the line in Mansory workshop to receive the carbon fiber treatment. Company developed and baked the carbon fiber based parts in the autoclave (a large oven that makes possible the creation of the carbon fiber based elements) and added it to the Lambo. Front and rear bumpers were changed, additional aerodynamic elements were added to the sides and the enormous rear spoiler basically finished off the Mansory Lambo Huracan.

Although we could say that we have expected a bit more craziness from Mansory in terms of styling, the real magic was actually happening under the bonnet. A 5.2 liter V10 engine is perfect  for all sorts of tweaking and  with the installation of a turbocharger, Mansory made the first important step towards creating the ultimate defrag car. Turbocharger obviously produces enough boost to make the engine run hot. To counter effect the additional heat, Mansory slightly tweaked with the cooling system, installed an all new exhaust, reprogrammed the ECU and lightly modified transmission. Thanks to these modifications the Dyno run showed that maximum power is now rated at 838 HP and 575 lb ft of torque (up from 610 HP and 413 lb  ft of torque). Is it enough? You bet it is. The Mansory Huracan can accelerate to 62 in 2.9 seconds while the top speed was risen to 205 HP. Many of today’s super saloons can achieve similar top speeds but the fact is that this Huracan gets there extremely fast.

Unfortunately, we do not know how much “green” you need to get your Lambo tweaked like this, but it’s a lot for certain. Mansory is known for production of ultimate carbon fiber monsters. Some of its cars from before got the entire exterior made from the material. This one, however, is clearly aimed to the less conspicuous, but that doesn’t mean for a second that the Mansory Lamborghini Gallardo is not exclusive, because it is, and a lot.

About Safet Satara

I do not have spare time. All there is is car time. 12 years and counting. I am a Central European gearhead, but you are probably thinking - aaa a disposable Borg drone! Well, actually, I like to dress up like James Bond too. The only thing I need to be him is an Aston Martin (and I love DBS more than DB5 because, reasons). That's something I guess.
