Lykan SuperSport HSF Breaks Record for Carbon-Neutral Car
The Lykan Super Sport: Fast, Sexy, And Carbon Neutral!
Updated September 27, 2018
W Motors previously wowed auto enthusiasts with its $3.4-million Lykan HyperSport, and now its successor – the Lykan Super Sport HSF – is in the works to do it again. All the fuss won’t be about its sleek and aggressive look or array of technological gizmos inside; this race car promises to be the fastest around of carbon-neutral vehicles on the market.
Described as a hybrid by W Motors, the Lykan Super Sport HSF will be able to switch between conventional fuel usage and a synthetic fuel not unlike the “e-gas” used by the Audi E3 G-Tron. In fact, that’s where the “HSF” plays in from the name; it stands for Hybrid Synthetic Fuel. The special carbon-neutral fuel for the Lykan Super sport is being developed by W Motors’ partner Air Fuel Synthesis.
Unlike the HyperSport, the Lykan Super Sport is designed for the race track. So there’s an appropriate venue for racing hybrid cars, the SuperSport’s design is being finalized alongside the development of a special eco-friendly racing program from clean-energy advocate Quimera and watchmaker Franck Muller.
Specific details about the Lykan SuperSport HSF’s performance have not yet been released, but the hybrid car is already advertised as putting out over 1000 hp, which would make it the fastest vehicle of its nature on the market. There will also be a few more of the Lykan SuperSport available for purchase than there were with the limited-edition HyperSport. Although only seven Lykan HyperSports were produced, 25 Lykan SuperSports are expected to become available later this year or in early 2016.
