Mustang Driver Shoots Corvette Driver For Going Too Slow

The man believed to be responsible for shooting a woman driving a yellow Corvette on Highway 78 in Stone Mountain is finally in custody. Jose Dionicio Ovalles, a man with a history of anger issues, has been arrested on two counts of aggravated assault and the felony possession of a firearm for opening fire on 44-year-old Angelina Christiano and her 25-year-old son in the passenger’s seat. Christiano sustained a gunshot wound to her upper back in the shooting but eventually came out okay.
According to reports from Christiano and eyewitnesses, Ovalles was following the Corvette C6 dangerously closely in his Ford Mustang, so the Corvette’s driver motioned for the Hispanic male to pass her. As Ovalles made his move to get around the Corvette, he opened fire on the mother and son inside. Captain Paul Braun believes Christiano’s motioning Ovalles to pass her was misinterpreted as an obscenity. “We believe right now this is just a road rage incident,” said Braun. “Try not use any type of hand gestures, you know, even though you may be waving, someone else may interpret that differently.”
