Mystery Surrounds New Aston Martin Hypercar
Fresh Rumors About The New Aston Martin Hypercar!
Updated October 2, 2018
We all know how it usually works when a completely new car is in the pipeline. First there are rumors that are normally based on some choice facts already muted by the manufacturer. Then we get to see the heavily disguised spy shots of test mules out on the road or at a test track. Next comes a “concept” at a major auto show that’s usually seriously close to the production model, which then gets properly launched a couple of months later. However, when you get to the very top end of the food chain, and we’re talking the very pinnacle of the industry here, things are different; very different.
The car we’re talking about here is the upcoming hypercar from legendary British sportscar manufacturer Aston Martin. Although the company has confirmed a car is on the way, that’s about all it’s saying. Thankfully, a source cited by the CarBuzz website as a longtime reader claims to be one of a very select number of individuals shown early clay renderings of the car. The source states that just 99 of them are going to be built, they will come with an eye watering price ticket in the region of $3.2 million, and they are all sold already.
If you’re pissed about only just hearing about the new Aston and you’d have bought one if you’d been invited, there will be a follow-up limited edition model a couple of years after this one appears in 2018.
For all that money you’d expect something pretty special, and it sounds as though this one is going to be off-the-scale awesome. Aston Martin’s CEO Andy Palmer claims it will lap just as quick as an F1 car or an LMPI racer, and we expect it to have a power-to-weight ratio better than that of a Koenigsegg One.
The images here are based on the DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo with a few tweaks, so the real car is sure to have plenty of surprises in store.
