Nanjing’s MG’s to Europe Plan on Ice

Looks like the Dutch hold the cards now:

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – Plans of Chinese carmaker Nanjing Automobile to sell MG-branded cars in Europe may hit a snag as the administrator of the Dutch MG Rover unit said Nanjing did not own necessary trademarks.

MG trademarks for countries such as Germany and France are owned by the Dutch subsidiary of MG Rover, administrator Anthony Terng said on Monday, adding he was in negotiations with Nanjing over selling the MG brand to them.
