Nissan Titan Texas Edition Is More Bling Than You’d Ever Need

See this chromed-out 2017 Nissan Titan Texas Edition

This is the Nissan Titan for Texas! We are not even surprised by it as Texas is the best country to deal with trucks. Texans buy more trucks than anyone, and they want attention. A lot of it for that matter. Nissan just gave them enough attention with the latest edition of the Nissan Titan Texas Edition. This truck is solely crafted for the Texan market with some distinctive features differing it from all other Titans. As expected it debuted at the 2016 Texas State Fair.

First of all, the special edition truck is available as a Crew Cab model. The package can be applied to the SV and SL trim levels for both – Titan and Titan XD. As expected, two drivetrains available – two wheel drive and four wheel drive.

Creating a Nissan Titan Texas Edition only required a bit of smart thinking about the cosmetic upgrades. Don’t expect here any large tech changes. This is after all just a Titan. However, Nissan did rig the truck with a healthy amount of chrome. They bathed grille in it. The wheels also. 20-inch chrome wheels complement chrome picture with the exhaust tips finished the same.

Sure, chrome and metallic pieces will make the Nissan Titan Texas Edition shine, especially with the black finish as shown in the pictures. As final differentiating features, one can note unique badging and metallic accents on the floor mats on the inside.

“TITAN XD was named ‘Texas Truck of the Year’ last fall by the Texas Auto Writers Association so it’s fitting to acknowledge the Lone Star State with this special vehicle,” said Fred Diaz, division vice president and general manager, North America Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles, Nissan North America, Inc. “For native Texans like myself, the Texas TITAN is the perfect representation of Texas attitude – big horsepower, big torque, huge capabilities.”

The Titan Texas Edition is available with the 5.6-liter V8. The Endurance engine develops 390 hp (291 kW) and 394 lb-ft of torque. Apart from this engine, the buyers of the Titan XD Texas Edition can opt for five liter V8 diesel. This one is a torque champ. It churns out 310 horsepower (231 kilowatts) and 555 lb-ft of torque.

While some purists might say that a Japanese truck could never compete with our domestic offerings, the Nissan Titan Texas Edition is here to sternly disagree. Seriously, how could you pass up on a 555 lb-ft diesel V8?? This truck has the guns to back up the nameplate it’s trying to push, and while personally, I wouldn’t want that much chrome on a truck, the 2017 Nissan Titan Texas Edition may be able to bridge the sales gap between other more well-established haulers on the market.

About Safet Satara

I do not have spare time. All there is is car time. 12 years and counting. I am a Central European gearhead, but you are probably thinking - aaa a disposable Borg drone! Well, actually, I like to dress up like James Bond too. The only thing I need to be him is an Aston Martin (and I love DBS more than DB5 because, reasons). That's something I guess.
