Shelby Terlingua Mustang GT Generates 750 Horsepower
What’s Not To Love About This 750 HP Shelby Terlingua Mustang GT?!
Updated October 4, 2018
The Terlingua special edition Mustang was recently introduced by Shelby American. As the name indicates, it was designed to pay tribute to the Terlingua Racing Team. The Terlingua Racing team were the winners of the 1967 Trans Am Championship with Jerry Titus behind the wheel. The interior of this special edition Mustang incorporates the signatures of Carroll Shelby, Jerry Titus, and Bill Neale who was the founder of the Terlingua Racing Team.
The standard Mustang GT off the showroom floor produces approximately 435 horsepower and this Shelby is cranked up to 750 horsepower. This mission was accomplished by incorporating a Whipple supercharger to increase the potential of the 5.0-liter V-8.
Several other performance and handing features were modified to keep all of that power under control. The suspension has been beefed up by incorporating adjustable coilovers and a Eibach sway bar system. Other enhancements include a Brembo big brake kit and Ford Performance half-shafts.
Traditional to all Shelby editions the exterior has also received a new look with several carbon fiber components. A front splitter, rear spoiler, and side skirts have been incorporated into the design. The custom grille with mesh inserts also incorporates the unique Terlingua Racing Team jackrabbit logo. Other enhancements include 20-inch WELD racing wheels and black exhaust tips from the Borla performance exhaust system.
Several parts on this special edition Mustang bare the Shelby brand as you will see in the attached illustrations. The Terlingua Racing Team is also represented in several locations including the quarter panels. The logo and team name on the seats really make an awesome impression as well. There is no doubt that car enthusiasts will immediately know that this is not a topical Mustang GT that you see everyday.
There will only be 50 of these special edition Mustangs made and the cost of this build starts at $65,999. This price does not include the cost of the Mustang GT required to accomplish the build.
