Isle Of Man TT Crash: Sidecar Ploughs Into A Crowd! (Video)
An out of control sidecar causes chaos at the Isle of Man TT
Updated August 22, 2018
Watch as a sidecar crashes into a crowd of spectators at the 2017 Isle of Man TT. Fortunately, no one was hurt – but it could’ve been a hell of a lot worse. But that’s part of the thrill of the legendary race, even if you’re not competing. We all know that the Isle of Man TT is one of the most dangerous races in the world but while every single rider in the iconic race is prepared for the dangers involved, some spectators still get injured.
Already, in the 2017 race, we have to sadly report the deaths of three riders. Irish racer Alan Bonner died during the Senior TT qualifiers. Dutch rider, Jochem van den Hoek, tragically lost his life during the Superstock TT race. British rider, Davey Lambert, also passed away after a short battle against injuries sustained earlier on in the week too. It’s not unusual for the TT to claim one or two lives every year, but we’re already at three, and we’ve still got a few days left.
That being said, every rider who enters into the Isle of Man TT knows the dangers, and accepts the potential consequences they may face whilst pursuing their dream. The same can’t be said for spectators. As you can see below, you don’t have to be entered into the legendary TT to be in with a chance of getting your name printed on the casualties list.

The crash below happened at the Ramsey Hairpin during the Sure Sidecar TT Race 1. Pilots Deborah Barron and Alun Thomas took a wide corner and whilst trying to correct it, their sidecar rig left the track and veered into a crowd of onlookers. Fortunately, no one was hurt. You’ll be pleased to know that sitting and spectating from that area has now been forbidden by race organizers…
