Jeep Wrangler Pickup Scrambler Soft Top Is Happening And It Comes With A Surprise
Removable roof is only part of that surprise
New Wrangler-based pickup truck? It is happening. 2019 Jeep Wrangler pickup will enter production in November 2018, but, as it usually happens, we have some tidbits to go after right now. A truck heavily inspired by the Crew Chief 715 revealed only last year at Moab Easter Jeep Safari will be storming the market.
Taking styling causes from the machines of the Sixties, the Crew Chief 715 was the one of the Jeep Moab Concept to drool over. The latest Wrangler made a screaming debut at the 2017 LA Auto Show with all-new architecture and all-new roof structure.
I did not mention its roof structure by chance.
See, the 2020 Jeep Scrambler will be available with a soft-top. You will be able to remove it.
Seriously. That makes me happy!
Due to new Scrambler soft-Top qualities, FCA engineers had to redesign the roof structure. After all, safety concerns of today are far greater than ever before. Luckily, they found a way to create probably the safest Wrangler ever. Although codenamed the JT, I would be more than happy if they continue using the Scrambler name. Nothing is confirmed yet, though.
Crew Chief 715 would not be bad either, would it!?
New engines, and probably a diesel for the 2019 Jeep Wrangler Pickup Scrambler
As for the fun stuff, I did wonder what would be the right fit for the Wrangler Soft Top Pickup Scrambler. Turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder is destined to find its way inside as well as the Pentastar V6. However, a fine addition could come in the form of a three-liter turbo diesel engine. 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel Engine with engine start/stop function dubbed the EXJ is only part of the story.
I found out that the top will be available as Black 3-Piece Hard Top, Body Color 3-Piece Hard Top, and Premium Black Sunrider Soft Top. Quite an offering. Especially considering that the JT pickup will be longer compared with the standard Wrangler.
Now, although the designer reached deep into the drawers with the Crew Chief 715 styling sketches, do not expect the Scrambler to be just like the 715. The front end will be far closer to what one can see on the regular 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Especially the grill. On the other hand, I am sure that FCA will find a way to integrate as much of the Crew Chief 715 styling causes as possible.
We only have to wait (and save money).
