Star Wars Hits the Streets Before the Silver Screen
Published December 16, 2015
Before the long-awaited Star Wars: The Force Awakens released, the streets of Los Angeles were treated to a related tour of Stormtrooper inspired Hellcats and a Viper. Dodge ran a “tour” with three of its fastest sports cars – a Challenger SRT Hellcat, a Charger Hellcat, and a Viper ACR – all of which have been tweaked to fit a Star Wars sci-fi theme.
These Dodge models certainly embody the force, being capable of impressive speed and agility. The Hellcats each put out about 707 HP, and the Viper isn’t too shabby with 645 HP. All of these Star Wars themed cars can go from 0 to 62 mph in under 4 seconds, which should qualify as Jedi strong.
The tour ran from December 11th to 14th with the film set to open on the 18th. Fans took advantage of the close encounter for photo opportunities, posting on social media with hashtags like #Dodge and #TheForceAwakens. Enthusiasts were also able to track the cars’ movements on Twitter.
